How do you make a final decision on a DAC I take possession of Tekton DI SE speakers this week. I get the long wait. It seems there are polarizing opinions on this brand but since you like R&R it might be a very good match for you. I have three DACs. I have an older Benchmark DAC1 USB...
Would the new Pro-Ject X8 be a good choice for a first turntable? Good advice!
How do you judge audio components and speakers? I have an audio buddy who is really into measurements. He claims if it measures well it will sound good. He has gone through as many components as I have and is still chasing that perfect sound. I don’t think he likes the equipment he has picked o...
12x7 tubes When I post information, it is about my experience with a product. I don't make blanket statements about what is good or bad. From the tubes I purchased and money I spent I found GE, Phillips and Sylvania NOS Jan tubes to sound very good. Not sure...

best amp for a Maggy 1.7i Magnepan is a great speaker with amps of sufficient current. You may find that the amps which have the muscle, great current and enough WPC will ALLOW the speakers to sound their best. And why wouldn’t one want a speaker this good to sound the bes...
Boutique or Big Brand? I think you have many, many options. I think the debate as to whether one should buy brand names or boutique companies is not as important as skipping hype surrounded any brand or model of component and actually listening and purchasing what sound...
What is an audiophile? Are you an audiophile? My wife said I am.
Old Vandersteen model 2 vs. newer model 2 I have the 2CE Sig II speakers and yes they do sound better when out into the room and away from side walls. I added stereo Rythmik subs and that really increased the bottom end (but they were already very good). IMO the 2CEs are the best bargain ... |
