Ohm Acoustic Corp., Brooklyn NY

Greetings All

This is, unfortunately,  an uneasy post.  I was persuaded to dive into a buying a set of Ohm Acoustics Walsh Tall 3000.  My very funky factory loft with 11' ceilings, not a single straight wall, 145 yr. old very wide & distressed oak flooring other issues dictated an Ohm Acoustics design.  However, placed/paid for my speakers 11/06/2021.  Speaking with Ohm indicates I can expect delivery around the middle of June.  That date has krept forever onward.  Yes, there was a snafu at Ohm's end that they readily recognize. But poor, poor, customer relations. I have spoken with Jake several times over the last 7 months; quite the gentleman.  However, I just no longer have a good feeling that Ohm Acoustics is on top of their game. And the last thing I want to do is spend about $6,000 for a product where the company is gone, out of business.

Crutchfield can ship me a set of Klipsch Cornwall IV this afternoon. My decision process 7+ months ago had me considering either the Cornwalls or the Walsh Talls. I went with the Walsh Talls. Hey, it still may be sonically the better decision. But until I get delivery of my Ohms I'll never know.

Thoughts?

Both Belden and Canare 4S11 are very good cable. Blue Jean is simply an assemble and a very good one. I have both their Belden 10 White and  Canare 4S11 in systems in my home. You can not go wrong with either.

@mijostyn I think Ohm Acoustic is a fairly well established company and after hearing the Ohm Walsh Tall 3000 in a friends system I would buy them over anything Klipsch offers.

Revisiting my original post. Time sure flies!  After about 21 months I love my Walsh Tall 3000s.  My system is mostly PS Audio, the preamp the BHK Signature, the power from the Class D M1200 monos.  They are in a factory loft on a 14'sq. persian carpet usually around 18" from front wall. Rough masonry ceiling is 11'.

Here's my dilemma, or maybe my own personal hangup. They sound GREAT! But these cost me new only about $5k. This month's Absolute Sound features the new Magico S3 M-Cast for $45,500.  Would they sound appreciably better than my $5k Ohms? All the reviews I ever read, even listening to The Audiophiliac (and giving Steve Guttenberg a call) come back with "they sound so much bigger than their $5k price."  TT is a Rega P10 with Aphelion 2 cart.

So close to 2 years in love the sound AND THE LOOK. They "fit" my room's decor and how I want a speaker to look not 3'-4' into the room.

I have been wanting to try a pair of current Ohm’s for several years and just picked up a used 6 year old pair of Walsh Tall 2000’s.  My (somewhat challenged) room was right at the maximum recommended size for these speakers but  I prefer lower volume listening so I gave it a go.  Initially, they seemed a little lifeless and just missing something.  I talked to Ohm and they suggested I adjust the crossover attenuator switch from the stock medium setting to off/low.  Wow the speaker came alive and I love them.  Just a completely different sound.  It feels as if you are in the room next to the artists.  So clear clean and less complex.  Not always better but different in a good way.  Fantastic for live recordings.  These really are a fun special speaker everyone should experience.  Best $1600 plus shipping I could have spent.  Glad you are enjoying your 3000’s.
