New Project RS2T transport

I have had one already and sent it back, did not work at all upon receipt. Dealing with the Music Room though is a pleasure. Will always do business with them. Had unit replaced with a new one, just arrived Yesterday, Sunday afternoon 7-25-22. Hooked it up and SAID WOW!!! I have a Meitner MA-1 DAC and the synergy is Fabulous. Right out of the box it sounded, GREAT. So very OPEN. I have been blessed when upgrading several pieces to be totally surprised by the improvements. VERY Audible!

I am somewhat concerned though as there have been a great deal of posts about quality control issues. (see first sentence)  As I said unit sounds GREAT, very impressed. HOWEVER, if anyone can comment that owns one, I noticed when placing the little magnetic puck on the disc that it just sits atop the center spindle and does not contact disc. The magnetic puck has a female center on the underside that goes over a very small  male metal protrusion. (SPINDLE)   I would think that it should go over that spindle totally and meet the disc firmly. (no space between disc and puck??? When I place puck on top of CD, It appears that the machining on the underside of the hole should be a MM wider so it doesn't sit atop the spindle and drops down totally on the disc. Hope this makes sense. Thanks Robert TN    Ps would like to thank Charles1 DAD  for encouraging me to stick with transport. It is that GOOD!!!   Just wondering if they all are designed to do what I am experiencing?

Charles one and lpretiring:  You may not realize it, but, your responses were very informative.  Thanks to you both. Happy listening. Robert

Charles 1 DAD and lpretiring: Getting closer, as the investigation continues.  Do either one of you know the Project RS2T DC power plug Diameter? 1.3mm/1.7mm/2.1mm/2.5mm    Also when ordering The Fidelizer Nikola2, do they match the 20V 3 amps exactly?  I know some other companies I've looked into, indicate 2-4-6-8 amp choice and a voltage choice, for ex: 19V or 24V. I haven't had a chance to email the Music Room, where purchased,  or directly to Project to get that answered. My first choice so far is your first choice.  Also, is the purchase done solely by e-mail? Have to look a little later tonight if I get a chance. Thanks as usual. Robert

@robshaw

The unit I had built is 20V 3A. That was the main reason it took so long to receive mine. Keetawakee had to wait for the core parts for the transformer.

As far as the diameter of the DC plug, I'm not sure since Keetawakee was very familiar with the requirements for the RS2-T. Perhaps Charles knows, but if you choose a different manufacturer if necessary, a quick reach out to Sumiko should answer that for you.

@robshaw

i do not know the exact size either. Fidelizer and LTA have built enough LPS for the RS2T and both know what is needed (20 volt/3 amps) and plug size to complete a proper job. At the very least I can say you'll be in good hand with either. As a reminder, I'd recommend that you inquire about the DC umbilical cord length you desire.

Charles

Thanks, to both of you.  Pretty much have it down to the two Charles mentioned.

Just trying to read as many reviews as I can. Did you both order yours from the Fidelizer web page?  I'll have to look later or tomorrow, as football is on tonight. Thanks again to both of you. Robert
