need more POWER

I have an area for HT that has only one 20 amp receptacle . It currently

has an integrated amp using one outlet and a cheap power strip plugged

into the other outlet . The power strip is powering a flat screen tv and an electric

clock .

I want to add an amplifier to the pre/out of the integrated amp . How can I get

sufficient power to the second amp ? I am not sure if a power strip can deliver

the power that an amplifier (SS or tube) will require for proper operation plus

the other items .

Thank you .

This is the good sounding solution. If you are not ready yet… keep it in mind for later.

Add a two new direct lines. Direct lines from the breaker box significantly increase sound quality. One for the amp and one for the other audio equipment. You want the electrician to use 10 gauge wire.

Direct lines remove your system from the regular household stuff… as most lines are connected in different areas.

+1 for better power strip. The 20 amp line should have enough current for at least a 200 watt per channel amplifier.

Well first ... thank you all for your inputs

A new power strip sounds , almost , too easy ! But great !

ghdprentice ; I was trying to avoid that if possible . Did it once for the main rig . Boy was the electrician annoyed at the 10 g. wire ! I pulled it but he still had to

make the connections .

Off to score more POWER !!!
