Yamaha+PreAmp or Rotel RA1572

Hello everyone! I have been listening and upgrading my system and have decided to go all the way with the upgrades. I mainly listen to classical. I have made the decision to get the Wharfedale Linton Speakers, and am upgrading my turntable to a Technics SL-1500C with an Ortofon 2M Bronze MM. My CD player is an SMSL PL200.

But I need an amp to power it. I’ve gotten conflicting advice from those I am buying from, and am not able to listen to these, unlike the trial period I get with my Turntable and Speakers.

I am deciding between two things. First the Yamaha A-S801 with the Lehmann Black Cube or the Rotel RA-1572 mk2. Because the Rotel is pre-owned these end up being the same price in total. What do you all think? The Rotel RA-1572 seems to have better electronics, but I am thinking that the Black Cube is just a better pre-amp in general from what I have read and would allow me to upgrade to the bronze MC in the future.

Years ago I had the Rotel RC1090 and I can say, for a factory integrated phono stage, it's the best I had heard.

So between your choices, my vote is for the Rotel

I’d go with the Rotel for its a robust unit and buying used can get you that extra push towards a higher end system. Lehmann Black Cube not sure about that. I’d divert those funds towards a streamer for down the road. And not down the road too far. Seems like your vision is solid on speakers, amp, turntable and cartridge. From my view you’re going the right direction. You are going to pretty happy when you put it all together, fire up all systems, sit back and enjoy.  No need to look back.

Rotel. They build better sounding equipment for the money. Gets you in the right league. Buying used, excellent idea.
