Woofers blown -- Rogers LS 2a/2

Hi -

Can anyone recommend replacement woofers for these speakers? I don't necessarily need original drivers, just ones that will fit & sound good in these cabinets... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Just remember to put 10 to 50 hours or so on them before they'll sound like your broke broken in ones.

Just curious, how did you blow the woofers without also blowing the tweeters? Generally it is the tweeters that get blown first when speakers are overpowered.

Glad the two people on here knew where to get replacements. Knowledge is key.

Call first and talk to Bill at Millersound, then send your woofer to Millersound Speaker service for expert repair at very reasonable rates.  If he repairs them, they will look and sound as new.  Search A'gon for excellent reviews.

As far as I can gather the LS2a/2 used the white translucent (plastic?) woofer - not the B110.

If the woofers produce sound then perhaps have them repaired (as suggested above).

A few "sales listing pics" that I ran across showed distorted rubber like surrounds which could be replaced if the coils are still good.

Never heard of this model before.

He states that it is "based" upon the 110 and he is discussing the LS2 (not the LS2A/2).

I have not been able to verify that the LS2 and the LS2A/2 use the same woofer.

Rogers used different versions of the white translucent woofers that looked alike (to me) but which had different specs.

I'm interested enough @ this point to see if I can nail down more info on the OP's speakers (get's confusing with the LS2, LS2A and the LS2A/2 all ending up in searches).

Wonder if Madisound (sp?) would have the info?

A quick dive came up with the LS2A/2's woofer being 160mm (still needs to be confirmed with a 2nd source).

B110 was smaller in my Ls3/5a's (maybe 130-135mm depending on how it's measured).

Found pics of the LS2A/2 woofer backs, but the hand written model # (7-M-3) returned Zippo on Google.

I need to man up to move a couple of mattresses, so that's it for today.

Thaniks everyone for your inputy ande information. I will look into these options now. The matter of whether the woofers of the LS 2A and the 2A/2 are the same is a concern and before I buy anythingh, I need to confirm what’s correct... Thanks again everyone...
