Will this amp work as described below:

Sometime in the near future I may be looking for a USED Pass Labs XA30.8    Hear is where the advice is needed.

My room is 13x13 with a hallway on one side and a small bathroom with a door on the other side. I listen to R&R loudly, Mid 90 spl. CD and stream. Using a SVS SB 3000 sub, with a pair of Fritz Carbon 7SE book shelf, 87 db  efficient speakers.

Just wondering if,  in that room, The Pass XA30.8 is powerful enough to listen at the levels I mentioned????  Thanks so much, as usual. Robert TN    current pre amp and power amp  Peachtree AMP 500 and Peachtrree PreDac     Just exploring up grading those 2 units. They both sound very good except I use an outboard Meitner  MA-1 Dac and don't need or use the digital side of the PreDac, trying to sell it as I write here. Merry Christmas

appreciate all responses very much. There seems to be mixed views on the power needed to give me my low to mid 90's spl's. Rock and Roll is best served loudly. With good equipment sounds great.  For what it's worth my hearing is very good at present. Just don't want to under buy power, as my ATI 6002 AMP in my main listening room is superb, tight, powerful dynamic, clarity, etc.  with tons left over, driving very efficient Tekton Double Impacts upgraded, in very large area.  I'm guessing,  at my level of listening I would be in the amps AB mode anyhow? Just shopping for the lack of a better term, and using people on this sites expertise that far exceeds my own. Thanks all. Just in the early stages now.

As mentioned, you will be wearing hearing aids before your time.  One of the great things about high quality audio is that you don't have to turn it up to sound good.

That is very loud, do you have problem with your hearing?

if not you will probably get that problem sooner than later.

I use a Pass Int25 in a slightly larger sized room with Fritz Carrera 7 BE's

but at 70dB not 90.

I can not imagine the 30.8 not being able to throw you out a window.

Seems like 90Db in 13 x 13 all you would hear is the room or am I crazy?

i would think the xa30.8 would be plenty in the op's application, even for loud listening... tremendous power reserve in the pass amps, and fritz's lovely speakers are not hard to drive, more efficient than stated 87 db/w/m in real world applications

The measurements on the website are for full Class A operation with .01 % when it goes into class A/B operation it is well north of 100 wpc before it reaches 1%.  With Fritz's speakers in that size room it will be louder than you can stand.  The specs on Fritz's speakers are deceptive as they been used at shows with under 10 wpc tube amps.

I would say no.  I have the xa25 with 92db Salk speakers.  It's plenty loud for me, but if you are playing at 90db with 87db speakers, I would think you want more power.
