I say Jewel and Debbie Harry.

Kurtisjeffers: I haven't seen Bartoli in person, but you have to admit on the album cover's. Maybe it's just me, I always give Italian women an extra ten points (on a scale of 1 to 10). I wonder if that Star Trek Counselor chick sings....

It is indeed amazing what photographers can do to improve a person's image. I remember when I was a concert security guard (yes I was one of the guys lining the stage!), I would sometimes do a double take when I saw a 'star'. Billy Idol is about 5'2, scrawny w/inch thick glasses, and really drugged out/sickly looking. David Bowie is a shrimp & looks 20 years older in person. Lousy, uncaring musician too. Bon Jovi is a really nice guy, plays a great live show, and talked to everyone. The rock group 'Cinderella' is actually a bunch of studious looking guys with short hair who were extremely serious, and detail oriented about their set / sound setup. I thought they were a bunch setup engineers until they came out dressed up for the show.

Rickie lee jones- Oh my. Although the Faith Hill video makes me drool. She can breath on me any time!
Tubegroover: If Pele could continue to have his woman "perform" on film for every man in Brazil, he would be a much bigger man than anyone I know. As his wife, she would have reflected poorly on him, particularly as he is a retired sports figure. As one who probably gains his living by his reputation and the perception of other people, I doubt he could have afforded such a marriage or relationship. Back to the topic: As much as I like to look at beautiful women, when it comes to singing, who cares what they look like? In this video age, we are inundated with beautiful women (and men) who cannot sing. They may be able to dance, possess a great body, have a beautiful smile etc. but singing has fallen by the wayside. I would say that 70-80% of the artists today could not get a record contract 30-50 years ago. Besides, hair and makeup artists have turned their jobs into such high art that if you are attracted to the physical appeal of the artist, you are often being completely tricked. I try to stick to vocal ability when evaluating singers while leaving female appreciation as something which can be pursued, if necessary, in the dark corner at tne newstand.
Rayhall, Like I said...Heidi Klum probably sings in the shower...so she wins. Otherwise I still vote for Natalie Merchant, but Edie Brickell comes in a distant second. By the way you didn't sight your humble opinion....I'm interested.
Wsmatau: Like I said, I try to separate singing talent from beauty, but I'll play along. Does Katharine Zeta Jones sing?
In the same vein as the last 2 posts, Halle Berry played Dorothy Dandridge in a made for tv movie. Someone else did the singing. Does that count?
Mfb33; nice to see Karen Carpenter remembered. I loved her song "Crescent Noon".
I guess that overall, the Coors take the cake. Go to a website or something... all 3 are drop dead gorgeous. I did forget about Edie, but overall, Corrs.
Karen Carpenter question: Sorry to borrow this thread for a second -- Mfb33, Garfish, Do you have a suggestion for a good Karen Carpenter recording? I'd love to have one. Her voice was magic. But there was so much vapid material. What should I try? Maybe it doesn't matter; the point would just be to hear that voice once in a while.
All the above mentioned are babes. It makes this hobby so much more enjoyable having to look at these women sing and wonder? Of course all look different in the morning.
I'll throw some other names in the ring. Christina Amphlett-performed I touch myself Samantha Fox-the Brit nymphet singer not the US porn star
Lot's of beautiful women singer's listed here but if I had to choose 1 I would go with Diana Krall.
WENDY O. WILLIAMS of the the legendary group PLASMATICS !!
Too bad she killed herself.
Susanah Hoffs from The Bangles! How can anyone forget those eyes in the "Manic Monday" video.
Let's broaden the category a little- The SEXIEST Female Singer alive today is SADE. She has several DVDs out and her stage presence and performances are Stunning. SADE possesses a womanly sensuality which leave the young little cuties- Shania, Brittany etc.- in the dust!! In a world dominated by sub 25 year old, scantilly clad hotties-a truly sexy WOMAN is a welcome alternative- particularly for those of us old enough to be Brittany's father(Bob Dole excepted!).
What a pathetic damn thread. As if we don't all have eyes. I've always suspected that the fantasy angle is what was behind a lot of audiophiles' seeming obsession with female vocal music, and this stupid display tends to confirm it. But then again, I learned long ago to be wary of audiophiles' motivations and taste when it comes to actual music. BTW, have you ever seen what a group of typical male audiophiles looks like?! (...And we wonder why there are so few women among us.)

Now you'll please excuse me so I can go pull out my Pretenders and B-52's LP's...
;^)
Leanne Rymes isn't a little girl anymore anybody see the Elvis tribute show few months ago her duet with Chris Isaac was very sexy.
Etched in my otherwise foggy memory of the '70s is the image of Maria Muldaur singing "Don't You Feel My Leg".
I'm not familiar with her music but I remember seeing videos of her running around w/ boxing gloves. I'll have to second Vanessa Williams. She was, after all, Ms. America until dethroned.
I just thought I would mention Cleo Lane,Crystal Gayle, Kate Bush ,and for raw animal magnetism Tina Turner. Some other real beauties are mentioned above. How the hell can you pick just one, how about most beautiful 50? Do have fun with your fantasy!! ;^)
With one of the best voices ever, classical diva Janet Baker was nothing to write home about, actually very average looking at best...
I would say...Beyonce Knowles is one of the most beautiful female singer to come along in the last couple of years...
wow. Very old, but very good thread. What female performer would I ever like to have seen? Piaf and Janis is up there right with her.

I wish I could have seen Billy Holiday in some cigar-smoke filled club.

Lena Horne...yes. Stevie whats-her-face from Fleetwood Mac:forget it. (Liza Minelli on steroids with a terrible producer...)

Aretha?...certainly! Garland...okay.

Can I get Melanie for a private concert?
ANOTHER VOTE FOR THE CORRS lol. As for Liz Phair, talented songwriter, yes, talented guitarist, I think not. Pretty typical of that genre music which i've been listening to for about 15 years. I don't know what albums the poster about Liz Phair was referring to, but I'm pretty sure most people only know her most recent matrix-produced album (i.e. she barely played anything on it).
Kathy Lee? i think she has a last name but I cant remember what it is.Whenever you buy one of her cds some percentage of profits are put to agencies who raise awareness of the abusive employment practices of sweatshops produced by american companies in not so distant foriegn countries. The exploitation of the poor, essentially. She is all about the people, and I think that is beautiful.
