Big Star / Number 3 (Rough cuts)

Slaw, I'll be here til early morning (LOL). I've purchased the majority of my vinyl from a local record store called vertigo in Grand Rapids Michigan. Been doing business with the owner for about 30 years now. Great store. One of the best I've ever been in. Huge selection and he is not afraid of buying/selling obscure and relatively rare vinyl. Of course whenever I travel I'm always checking out those stores. There is a good one in Traverse City Michigan that I used to spend a lot of time in when we had a cabin up there. A great one in Cincinnati and also Indianapolis that I make trips to occasionally as well... Like you (I don't think I'm going out on a limb here) I can spend hours in a record store. The good ones have a great vibe to them.
@boxer12,

I made the decision earlier that I’d pull another all-nighter. Hopefully, we’ll find some common ground my friend? You should check out Pinback. All of their lps are close to (10). On top of that, they are rockin'.

Putting on The Outlaws right now!
Hey dude, I'm putting on Kansas "Audio Visons". It's not my all time favorite but it totally rocks! ""Leftoverture" is my favorite by them.
BTW, How's the cart settling in?

My Stillpoints Aperature (nailed it) in my system!
It sounds really good, but I still like the empire better. It's time to start dialing it in to see what it can really do. I've probably got about 40 hours on it now. I put it in a new head-shell with silver wire so it's going to take another 40 before it is settled in.

Grizzly Bear / Veckatimest
Are you familiar with Sparklehorse?

This may be our (connection). Sparklehorse "Dreant For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain"
Unfortunately I don't have that one. I have
Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot  & It's a wonderful life. Really like that Tom Waits sits in with them.
Slint / Spiderland
If you don't have this one, you should check it out. I think you would like it.
@boxer12 - What record store do you visit in Cincinnati? Shake it? Everybody's? There's a newer one up in Loveland called Plaid Room. It's awesome! They also have a record label and a recording studio. They have been producing some great new soul and re-releasing some great older out-of-print stuff. Next Friday they are moving into a new space, tripling their size, expanding their recording studio and adding some office spaces upstairs. It's going to be great! It's an awesome place to spend Record Store Day. Lot's of community involvement from local restaurants and micro-breweries. Fun stuff.
Ramsey Lewis - "Wade in the Water" Mono - Rescued today from the dollar bin at my LRS - Plaid Room Records in Loveland Ohio.
Reubent, Shake it. I never heard of Plaid room but will check it out the next time I'm there. Thanks!
Atlanta Rhythm Section "Champaign Jam" MFSL!

"Wade In The Water" recorded by many,     .Eva Cassidy
@boxer12 - I have the poor man's version too. I enjoy it, but I also like box wine. Just sayin'.....
Jack Johnson - "In Between Dreams" - Brand new, from my LSR today.

So, I like Jack Johnson. He's just so chill.... My 15 year old son also likes him, so I've invested in new copies of both "In Between Dreams" and "Brushfire Fantasies" on vinyl. I like both these albums very much. However, unusually, I don't find the new vinyl LPs of these two albums to sound any better than the CDs I already owned. I'm a big fan of vinyl and I typically think vinyl typically sounds better. But in these two instances, I don't hear any difference. And my new copy of "In Between Dreams" is noisy. I'll clean it again to insure I didn't inadvertently deposit some crud on it. But I'm not impressed at the moment.
CocoRosie - "God Has a Voice, She Speaks Through Me"
Zoot Woman - "Gem"
William Orbit - Montauk Point (Edit 1)
John Kay - "Bold Marauder"
Kendra Smith - "Bold Marauder"
Richard & Mimi Fariña - "Bold Marauder"
Yello feat. Till Brönner - "Till Tomorrow"
Slim - Slim 0097 (album entire)
@reubent,

Interesting!

I’ve hailed "In Between Dreams" as a Sleeper for years. You mentioned "Brushfire Fantasies". It should be "Brushfire Fairytales"
Enjoy the cabin N80!

Slaw,
Good to see you woke up LOL

Low / Double Negative
Low / Curtain falls on the cast

Slaw, They're (Low) coming to Grand Rapids Mi next month. Just found out about that at the record shop this week. Kinda Pumped
@boxer12,

Let us know how the show was! (BTW, I highly recommend the Synergistic Blue outlet!) It's rare that a product such as this can have such a profound positive effect.
……………………
Spoon "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga"
………………………….
BTW, the aforementioned "GYBR" DJM pressing......since I find it so rare these days...this lp is actually pressed on center! WOW!
Nico / Chelsea Girl

Slaw, Will do. It also irritates me that new pressings have such a hard time finding the center of the vinyl. It really isn't rocket science
BTW I agree with you about the SR outlets. I only have the red one presently but it was a very noticeable improvement. That stated, have you ever tried the "Graphene Contact Enhancer"? It isn't terribly expensive & SR & other audio manufacturers seem to be using Graphene a lot lately, so there "may be" something to it.
Courtney Barnett - "Tell Me How You Really Feel" - Just put it on and it’s my first time through. Saw Courtney live last week in Milwaukee and it was Outstanding! This girl can rock. And she’s just quirky enough to keep it interesting. Good stuff. Oh yeah, got the "Exclusive to Indie" Red Vinyl.....
@boxer12,

Regarding the Graphene Contact Enhancer.. I have not tried it. If you’ve read that thread, I had some issues with the OP. Given that, right now, I’m not willing to take my system apart and apply a product.
…………………………
Giant Sand "Tucson"
………………………..
@reubent
Courtney rocks dude! BTW, she started her own record label... Milk
I saw the thread for $300 contact enhancer & took it with a grain of salt. This stuff is $80 for 10ml bottle. That I may have to try...

BTW I cut all the material for the frame of the stand today. Lotsa cutting.
