FWIW, I had the Serafinos in my system a few years ago and was looking to move up to the Amati. Both are fine speakers as far as I’m concerned. I auditioned the Il Cremonese and quickly decided they were worth the extra money. I did not find them to be fussy at all. They are more than just a bigger version, they are in the reference class, which is a step above. There is more bass and it is better controlled. Imaging and detail is better without losing any of the musicality of the SF sound. if you like the SF sound, both are excellent speakers, but to my ears the Il Cremonese justifies the higher price. It seems that there are bargains to be had on SF speakers in the used market at the moment so I would encourage you to listen to them if you have a chance. All of this is completely subjective and others may disagree, but I’ve had a chance to spend a little time with the speakers, for what it’s worth.
