What are some of your best thrift store or "give-away" AUDIOPHILE WORTHY finds!

(Sorry about the exclamation point rather than a "question mark" in the title. Editing won’t let me correct it.)

I just had to share! I just recently found a set (2) of Transparent MusicWave Ultra cables at a thrift store. I paid $60.00 for the set. I put them on a pair of KEF 107’s, which I found at another thrift store 2 weeks later, for $300 in perfect condition. WOE! KUSC radio and my CD collection have come fully ALIVE!

A vintage Sony power amp.
It was nice, but a bit too warm sounding.
I sold it for a lot. Lol
A pair of Klipsch Heresy's in oak finish for $25 + sales tax at my local Goodwill. I needless to say grabbed them right away!
Same store - a pair of JBL 640's for $48! I bought them and later sold them for $200.

The Klipsch Heresy's put you in the lead by themselves! Nice finds! Where is this Goodwill store? WOW!

It was a hot day in July and I walked out the back door to see what new stuff had come in at the parking lot. I spied a pair of floor-stander speakers! Upon closer inspection they were Snell Type E's with rotted foam surrounds. I asked one of the workers "How much?"  He replied "I don't know!" I pointed out that they needed repair work. He said "How about $18?" "I'll take them" I replied! "Go inside pay the cashier and come back and show me the receipt" So that's how I acquired a pair of Snell E's in need of new surrounds!

Thorens TD-124 Mk 1 - free from my cousin
Merlin 3B+ speakers - free from friend

The Thorens needed some maintenance, along with minimal expenditures (~ $30) to bring it back to service, and the Merlins needed the exterior foam replaced (~ $40). Both are sounding great and being enjoyed as they should be.

The "secret" of hunting at Goodwill is to go to a store in a wealthy area. Lots of rich people donate their unwanted stuff there! Poor area = poor selection!

Last year, I came across a Denon 59L turntable, in beautiful perfect working condition. (Not a scratch!) It was in an ANGEL’S VIEW thrift store. On Ebay, these have sold from about $800 to $1500 dollars. This store was only asking $35.00! Needless to say, it looks really nice next to my KEF 107’s mentioned earlier! All it needed was the Ortofon M20 cartridge I happened to have lying around and, SCORE!
Pioneer PL-50 at Goodwill.  No dust cover or belt.  $20.00 plus a belt at $18.00.  Not a bad TT for 38 bucks.
