What are Home theater must-haves?

I’m relatively new to the thread but love scrolling through and seeing all the amazing home theaters people have built. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to build my own, when doing so I was just curious what you all thought were must haves that make it “a home theater” rather than just a projector with some chairs. Agree with everything here.  Also, will it primarily be used for video, or how much does music fit in.

A budget with a plan after a little education. That cost very little and will pay great dividends in the long run.
