If it comes down to having to pay $2K for a new Basis motor, I would consider the Eclipse system from SOTA as an alternative. Total cost is less than $2K and you get speed control in the bargain.
What AC motor does BASIS use in their older 2500-2800 series TT
Hello,
I have a Basis 2500 that needs to have the motor replaced. I have disassembled the stand alone motor pod and can see the motor but it has no marking of any kind to indicate manufacture. It is a sealed unit.
BASIS reportedly wants 2k approx for a new motor, not sure if that is motor only or includes the heavy medal stand along Pod. They also state that they made specific modifications to the motor units... not sure they would be trying to disassemble the sealed motor or are simply laying on hi-end salesmanship. It does have a very nice on'off switch... maybe a VERY expensive switch.....
Any help would be appreciated.....
Not exactly excited about paying boatloads of greenbacks to BASIS for what looks to be a $80--150.00 motor...
Thankx
