Vinyl temperature

The elasticity of vinyl (and many other materials) varies with temperature; generally stiffer when cold.
It seems to me that at lower temps would allow the phonograph stylus to more faithfully follow groove displacement.
Would there be any advantage to a turntable which chilled the record during playback?
And what would be the optimum temp? Too low and the vinyl would enter the glass transition and become brittle.
i thought of this reading a discussion about using high performance summer car tires in cold weather.

Thanks for the rational response.
You would be amused by the rambling, irrelevant reply I got at another forum.
Cartridge suspensions are designed to work best at room temperatures.  A chilled platter would cause the ambient temperature to drop significantly below the cartridge's optimal operating conditions.
Cryo improves the performance of all materials, steel, aluminum, plastics, vinyl, what have you...

Geof,
Do you cryo?
Can I send you one of the Peter Paul Mary album to try the outcome if you do?
I also have dupes on Brian Ferry in mint condition to try out...

I use Cryo Pro in MO for my cryo needs. If I am not in the mood for cryo I just use the freezer section in the fridge.
