+1 @roxy54 - making a conclusive comparative claim without the actual comparison

What a stupid poorly written post.

My WATKINS GEN 4 BLOW THE AMEA DIAMOND OUT OF THE ROOM BY A MILE 24/7/365 AND TWICE ON SUNDAY AND HOLIDAYS BY 5 MILES NOT EVEN A CONTEST CAN YOU IMAGINE A 24K SPEAKER WIRED WITH 88 CENTS PER FOOT MOGAMI TRASH WIRE
|
15k for a small speaker is alot $$. My opinions and knowledge has increased and changed opinions. Many speakers out there...tons. Many have stellar reviews.... |
|
And they will be affordable |
Borrenson has a new series due out soon...id highly recommend them. |
Going to my local shop to hear the Amea on Saturday. Have read about them for a few months. Looking forward to it |
Stay away, too many delays |
More delays, not till january or february |
I wrote the Canadian importer of Vimburg speakers to ask him the following question.
I wonder how far into a room the Amea has to be placed. This is a 3 way design with a rear firing woofer.
His reply Sorry for the late reply, we were very busy preparing for Toronto Audio Fest.
The woofer at the back is actually a passive radiator. It’s using the air pressure inside the cabinet to move so you can put it close to the wall without any problem.
Your room is perfect for Amea and you wouldn’t have bass problem even if you put it close to the front wall (let’s say 20-50cm distance).
The price of the Amea is USD $14,000 and the first batch should arrive in mid-November.
If you have any other question, please don’t hesitate to ask! I am a little slow when it comes to audio, so I will need to figure out how this passive radiator concept works. |
Many feel the vimberg line is nothing short of sensational. Big factor is electronics in this dynamic with any speakers. Id say its gonna be very good. But 8500 more for a dianibd tweeter is alot. Plus info has been scarce in a speaker that is due out in a month. |
Wow i just popped my cookies!! |
I welcome new audio equipment but not for the price. Anyone can choose the right speakers from the large list of best definitive technology bookshelf speakers, click here. I will just have a good option at this stage. I have never had the opportunity to compare in the same conditions even Amea. How strong are the differences? |
Im sure the vimbergs are going to be impressive. But...alot of things are nice out there. |
I wonder how far into a room the Amea has to be placed. This is a 3 way design with a rear firing woofer.
The ceramic version of the Amea is in the ball park price range of the TAD ME1, The ME1 is an amazing monitor speaker (the best I have heard). |
That’s ridiculous. Only proves my point.
|
It seems that next to speaker cables and phono cartridges, small top grade bookshelf speakers have seen the steepest price hikes in recent years. Brands in this strata seem to be pricing themselves out of existence. Maybe there's a bigger market than I realize. |
|
Any insight about "newly announced products" from Vimberg?
|
The cabinet looks very similar to the Avalon monitor they had back in the 1990s..Pricing is ridiculous |
Indeed. Vimbergs are great...but that price point is absurd. |
