turntable hum

Hi I have a Rega P5 table ,with new Exact Cart, got it used , it has a hum and gets louder as the volume goes up.It doest have a ground wire, I thought might be my prima luna integrated amp or my pro-ject tube box DS, so i hooked up to another receiver (outlaw 2160 ) and still has the hum, is this normal ,i don't think so ! Any ideas as to what would cause this and how to get rid of this HUM , Thanks Lloyd

Idea? Dude you already have the answer!
.It doest have a ground wire,

Rega’s ground wire is routed through the tonearm which is why we see so many threads about Rega and hum. It’s poor design. The table tries to ground to itself. Doh! Let me guess, your hum also gets louder as the tonearm gets closer to the motor/spindle? Does the hum change if you touch the tonearm?
so with no ground wire is there any fix for it  or time for a new table ?? ,Thanks People
You'll have to add one. One common problem with Regas is the motor isn't grounded and radiates hum to certain kinds of cartridges such as Grados.
But when the motor is grounded (as well as the tone arm) then there is no hum. Grounding the motor is a bit of a trick as some of the finish has to be filed off in order to make it possible to solder a wire to the case of the motor. But once this is done the wire can then be connected to the base of the tone arm, and in turn to the ground post of your phono input.
1+ Ralph. You might look for a screw on the motor's housing you could
attach a spade lug to. You can get these at any auto shop. You just crimp it to the wire. The tool is cheap.

I did- at least on the unit I serviced there was no convenient screw. So I soldered it instead.
