turntable

i have a pioneer pl-51 direct drive turntable i bought back in the early 70's. the last time i used it was around 1990. it worked well then. my grandkids were playing with it around 1997 and the needle broke off. i still turn it on every now and then. it has a 'grado' unit on it. if i buy the replacement stylus for it would it be ok????

Slide old one out, slide new one in. Should be fine.
Table that old you should check the bearing, clean and lube if you can. It has after all been half a century. Bearing lube can go dry.
I have Pioneer PC-1000 mkII cartridge with Beryllium cantilever, one of the greatest MM, you can read about it online. I enjoyed it so much that i’ve been looking for almost every sample appeared for sale and bought nearly all of them (including original headshell). If you want to update your Pioneer turntable with perfectly matched cartridge for this deck then look for Pioneer PC-1000 mkII, this is the one than was made for Pioneer Exclussive series of turntables. In 1976 it was 30 000 YEN cartridge.
