Nutty, Your post of David Bowie, moved me to listen through "Let's Dance" for the first time in years. I have fond memories. This (lp) was playing on a system that included Spica TC-50 speakers years ago when I was a budding audiophile. At the time, I had Klipsch KG-4's. I later sold them and purchased a pair of Spica TC-50i's. They are still in a closet. Bowie will always be awesome! |
astro58go, Thanks for the keeping me straight. And your right, the guitar work is superb on that track. slaw, Thanks for the kind words. And Bowie IS awsome. I had Klipsch KG 5.5's at one point, then moved to KLF10's and the story goes on from there. I really enjoy this thread and make an attempt to listen to each posting. Ronnie Montrose, "Town without pity". https://youtu.be/hkGvObg6WIw N |
We just got pummeled with snow, so this tune is very appropriate: REO Speedwagon-"Ridin' The Storm Out" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVFgEBq0EKM |
slaw, I will check into M. Ward's version. I also agree that Ronnie's passing was glossed over considering the circumstances. He was one of my favorites and a major influence. mofimadness, How much snow? And I really like the "old" REO stuff. Although I don't have any snow, the temp here was 9° in the yesterday morning and today it's already 52°! But I will play "Snowblind" by Styx in solidarity. Next up, Rory Gallagher, "Jacknife Beat".
