Tune of the Day
Nutty, Glad you liked it! If you haven't heard much from Jenny Lewis, she is one that deserves attention. "Under The Blacklight" is the only (Rilo) lp I own but I have most, if not all of her solo & collaborations. Not a bad one in the bunch. IMO, she comes as close as any to the great Neko Case in the vocal department. Happy Listening! |
Kompendium, Beneath the Waves. Fantastic listen. Progressive- song is "Sole Survivor". https://youtu.be/0Fwp69zp29I N |
Tom's tune of the evening is Chip Taylor and Carrie Rodriguez from the CD - Live at the Ruhr Trienniale Red Dog Tracks For anyone who has not heard this recording, just get it. It is an incredibly good sounding recording and a fantastic performance by a duo who were at the absolute top of their form. Seriously incredible stuff. Oh, and the band features Chip and Carrie, plus Greg Leisz, Bill Frisell, David Pitch and Buddy Miller. |
10.000 Maniacs - Because The Night (MTV Unplugged) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydKbP0L9qcE Natalie Merchant...what a voice! |

slaw, Just for fun, I compared "Friendly Advice" from my Bewitched "first time available on vinyl issue from 2012" to my "Bewitched from the 2nd press box set (1st press was white vinyl), ... I had previously thought the 2012 lp sounded very good, now I realize it is bass heavy and confused. The lp from my box sounds much more musically/tonally right. |
Still watching this thread. I really like these music threads...best this, best that....It always amazes me how broad are the tastes of posters and how much great music is out there that I've never heard of, as well as reminders of stuff I haven't pulled off the shelf in my own collection lately. Today's highlights, at least so far, are the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, "Stairs" from the album "Spin", and "Coming Home" from the O'Conner Band with Mark O'Conner. |
