Absolutely critical you listen to them. Different mid-treble character. Also, if your current speakers are working well in the room.
Also, the sweet spot is most likely different so check how the stereo image is in your current and ML as you move left to right.
Of course, if you haven't invested in your room acoustics, it's a better place to go than throwing money at speakers first. :)
