Townshend Springs under Speakers

I was very interested, especially with all the talk.   I brought the subject up on the Vandersteen forum site, and Richard Vandersteen himself weighed in.   As with everything, nothing is perfect in all circumstances.  If the floor is wobbly, springs can work, if the speaker is on solid ground, 3 spikes is preferred.

I have witnessed the respect and difference of a once real poster on these pages go into the dumps.   Too bad....  Its all about attitude...   I won't be listening anymore.
What makes me gun-shy about getting the springs is that I tried Herbies things under my 5A's (a large step backward), Vandersteen's comments, (the speakers are time aligned and float a gorgeous tone picture...my thinking is that if the speaker can rock, the timing will suffer - don't know that as fact..just wondering), also my speakers are extremely heavy and would require hired hands to complete the setup..  too much for an experiment.
Everything matters and you should  know the goal to know if it's right for you.   I play the violin.....I adjust the bridge, the soundpost, the chin rest, the shoulder rest, the brand of strings, the rosin, the bow, and so it goes.   I'm never happy, and it might change with the piece I'm playing, where I'm playing, the temperature/humidity, etc. ..and so it goes.
Thanks for the offer Tom, but as you know, a new endpin has to be hand turned for the precise fit, also the attachment gut has to be installed, varying its length and girth, and then experimenting with soundest, bridge, etc.   To do it right would take more time than I want to donate ....but I thank you for the opportunity.
OK>>OK.......  just to test the spring theory, I will order Nobsound devices and try them under my amp/pre/CD, player to hear if indeed springs are the good route.   I'll report back in a couple of weeks when done.   Anxious to evaluate
..in my Vandersteen 5A’s, the 2 12 inch woofers are attached at their perimeter (facing each other) to minimize enclosure vibrations. The opening of the woofer enclosure faces downward....the other 3 speakers are in their separate enclosures...very heavy, and time aligned.
