Top Speaker Cables for SET System- under $5k used

I use silver conductors with a teflon coating in my SET system. I believe a big part of it is the teflon coating. I would not recommend silver without it. The cables I use are custom made ones so no name brand for them. Kimber might have some, I've heard good things about their silver ic's.

A cable I liked before the silver was the Cardas SE-15. He designed these specifically for "SE" amps.

The best match and sounding speaker cable I`ve used is the Ocellia Silver Reference. Its sonic character is fabulously nautral-organic with superb resolution,tone and transparency.The maker of this cable believes in the superiority of natural materials(paper,cotton,etc.) over synthetics as a dielectric.
I find it an extrordinary fit with my SET based system.

I don`t know enough about dielectric materials to debate the differences(both proponents could make good arguements I`m sure). All I can state is that the natural fiber dielectric concept works wonderfully for me.Very subtle ambience, nuances and detail are revealed in a pure and natural manner.

47 Labs OTA Cable, with bare ends tinned with WBT silver solder.

47 Labs is all about simplicity, these cables are 26 gauge. Too small? Just right if you are pushing only a few watts.

Note that I have two 300b SET setups, I use 24 gauge solid core five nines silver with Teflon dialectric on one of them, it is excellent as well.

I use DIY silver foil speaker cables with my Lamm SETs.

There was a group buy quite a few years ago organized by John Chapman and he obtained some wide pure silver foil for the participants. I paid around $200. These cables are just foils, wrapped in wide Teflon plumbers tape, and the placed back to back and wrapped again with Telflon. The ends are shaped with some Origami-like folding of the foil and then I cut a notch with some small scissors - so no connectors.

I think good silver cables go well with SETs. These ribbon cables were great with my Welborne Labs 300b SETs, and even better with the Lamm ML2.1s.

Thanks everyone- agreed that silver (very good silver) might be the way to go here. Charles1dad, what a coincidence- I was thinking of Ocellia actually! I have a 1m pair of their silver reference interconnect coming soon. I also hear the Ocellia power cords are fantastic. The one (and it's arguable) weakness of all the products I have hard (ironically given the nature of my thread) is the speaker cable, which some have found 'slightly light in the bass'. **However, an Oceallia dealer told me that one guy actually bought a double-run of the speaker cable, and that helped fill in the bass nicely- interesting...

The bass performance of the Ocellia is superb and well balanced,just nice and natural without over emphasizing the region.
