Simple system for stay at home seniors

I would like to share a recent experience, in the hopes that it might stimulate others in the A-gon community, to help someone enjoy the experience of music.
A senior couple who frequent classical and other concerts are stuck at home in CA due to coronavirus. They have CDs and LPs, but a broken old stereo, so are missing music.
I ordered a simple set of equipment from 3 different sources for under $1k total. Turntable, cd player, small powered speakers (Klipsch) that accept any input.
Result - system arrived at their house. Simple to set up. Very good music. Very happy couple.
Maybe there is a friend or relative in your life for whom you could do the same.
