Not Jazz, but I have to Mention it - Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard - "Farscape"

I'll add a cheer for Roy Hargrove. Just picked it up last night. Great CD. Great bass, soundstaging and music. Can't go wrong here.
Lots of good music out there. These have found their place in my rotation this year:
1. Female Jazz - Lizz Wright "The Orchard"
2. Piano Jazz- Brad Mehldau Trio "Live"
3. Guitar Jazz - Earl Klugh "Spice Of Life"
4. Horn Jazz - Roy Hargrove "Ear Food"
5. Stretch - Charlie Haden "Rambling Boy
This is a good thread! For those who haven't seen it please buy the latest DownBeat magazine issue as it has their annual review of highest rated cd's. It covers both new 2008 releases and historical ones. food for thought and a respected source for exploring new artists/new recordings.

Bobo Stenson Trio: Cantando
Ketil Bjornstad/Terge Rypdal: Live in Leipzig
Nik Bartsch's Ronin: Halon

Thank you Kana813! Checked out your link and found Sahib Shihab - what a great find! Ordered two of his CDs: Sahib Shihab and the Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra; and Companionship: Jazz Joint, Vol. 2. These sound very promising - perhaps as enjoyable as Rahsaan. Can't wait for delivery!
Sahib Shihab and the Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra is a must. Terrific music and top notch recording. Heat and shape your copy of "Jazz at the Pawn Shop" into an ash tray and replace it with this gem. Similar audio quality but with way better music.
Excellent suggestions - All.

Sonny Rollins is still "doing it" w/ his Road Shows series.
