Too many cables

   Hi all. Does an unbalanced output (preamp) signal need to be converted before going through a balanced crossover and back to a unbalanced input on the amp ? I am using the converter now.  Could the converter be eliminated and use adapters without degrading the signal?
   Thanks

Thanks Erik. Your opinion keep as is or use adapters? Just wanted to eliminate some cables.
@OP,
If you mean running a balanced cable to rca, then, yes, you need a converter- Preferably one of Jensen's.
Using a cable without one would be a kludge.
Unfortunately, you would need two cables-
Balanced to balanced
Into converter, then
RCA to RCA.

No. Just use adapters like these.

XLR male AND female.
I did for years into a pro tape deck.
You only should add transformers if your signal is too weak.
