Taralabs cables

Hi, I wanted to start a new thread for all the owners of Taralabs cables, Enjoy, and cheers.
128x128audiolabyrinth
@audiolabyrinth. I'm selling it on audiogon. It's a great piece I just like trying other stuff. I'm enjoying an audio bucket list. Kieth don't let what people say bother you so much. Say what you want be how you want. Lol
ok, It appears that golden_sound, Ryan, is selling your speakers, cd-player, and tube pre-amp?
He is selling the preamp. He actually had it before I did. It's been well taken care of. Those are not my speakers they are the mozart mine are the beethoven baby grand se and they are not going anywhere and the parasound is not mine. He has his own. I'm keeping mine. I'm never selling it.

I'm never selling it. We both have one. Great observation but check my threads. I have the beethoven baby grand. My parasound is not going anywhere. Lol
I believe you calvinj, hey, atleast you are changing up your system, I may be stuck for a while, I am buying tweeks that cost alot for what they are, like recepticles, that's next on my list, I am also going to get some deoxit Gold for cleaning and conditioning contacts on plugs and spades, balanced pins, etc..., they say this stuff works great, waxwaves swears by it, he uses it alot, cheers.
Even Taralabs Grandmaster Evolution series cables can improve if you use a Tripoint Troy Signature to remove EMI/RFI. Check out this review from a WBF member. Dealer disclaimer.

About two weeks ago I received the new Taralabs grandmaster evolution (6 ft) loudspeaker cable and Taralabs grandmaster evolution (1,5m) ic cable. These new top of the line cables are not yet officially launched by Taralabs. However the word spread rapidly that the Grandmaster evolution cables are something extraordinary and they can be ordered, although the availability is restricted (partly because it takes quite some time to produce them). Being a music lover and audiophile for more than thirty years I have learned the hard way that a lot so-called break through products do not live up to the expectations. And although I was a little sceptical that the new grandmaster evolution would outclass my taralabs omega gold and zero gold cables, after talking several times to Matthew Bond and Devon Scott I took the jump. Boy, what am I glad that I did!

Having listened to them for about 50 hours I can say the following: the grandmaster evolution cables are by far the best loudspeaker and ic cables I have ever heard. These cables sound on the one hand very calm/serene but are on the other hand the most dynamic cables I have ever experienced. Furthermore they are very refined (velvet) sounding with a huge soundstage (deep as well as wide) but at the same time with a focus that exceeds easily all other cables that I am familiar with. Probably as a consequence of the great extension of the grandmaster evolution cables they also give you the impression that the soundstage is larger in height without making the players and instruments larger than they are. For example, the distance in height between various players in a large orchestra can be noted easily. Talking about an inky black background and transparency: the grandmaster evolution excells in this regard.

BTW, I connected the (double box) Taralabs grounding device to my Tripoint audio Troy signature se grounding device and noticed that the haze on some vocals was (nearly completely) gone. Spooky!

If I am informed correctly, the new Taralabs evolution line (situated directly below the top of the line grandmaster evolution cables) is right now being tested and reviewed by one of the leading audio reviewers. So if you find my great enthusiam hard to swallow, wait for this review and find out if there are oher people who are as impressed as I am.

Top notch products never come cheap and the same applies to the Taralabs grandmaster evolution line. So probably some WBF readers will jump on the issue of pricing and will be very criticall. I am not going to react to this and can only advise the following: try to give the grandmaster evolution cables a serious listen. They are phenomenal imho.

For those who are interested I include some info from the Taralabs website. Happy listening to eveybody.

"The Grandmaster Evolution Interconnect with “Dual Mono-block” HFX Floating Ground Station System

The Grandmaster Evolution Series from TARA Labs is truly beyond belief. It is quite simply the new watershed in the art and science of audio cable design. The Evolution Series is in a class of its own, beyond all other audio cable products in the history of the audio industry worldwide.

The Grandmaster Evolution Interconnect uses the same multi-lumen air-tube concept invented by TARA Labs as used in the ZERO Interconnects and the AIR Series Interconnects originally developed in 1986. However, the Evolution Interconnect is remarkably flexible.

The Evolution Interconnect uses the same displaced and Floating Shield design together with a new Dual Mono-Block HFX Ground system with greater absorption of RF/EMI and a vanishingly low background noise.

Incredibly, the new Grandmaster Evolution Interconnect boasts a remarkably low capacitance figure of just 2 pF per foot. This means that the new Evolution has a High Frequency bandwidth that is more than 300% greater than any other high-end cable in the world.

• The most advanced air-tube technology and design
• All new proprietary “dual mono-block” floating ground station (HFX) and floating shield system
• Controlled spacing of conductor to conductor geometry, produces record low interconnect capacitance of a mere 2 pf (pico farads)
• Additionally the conductor to shield capacitance is remarkably low so the EMI/RFI coupling from the shield to conductors is negated
• The outer shield is expanded and spaced away from the conductors to such a degree that the background noise is at an all-time low
• Two layers of anti-corrosion coated SAOF-8N copper shield
• Compared to the Zero Evolution, The Grandmaster Evolution has a larger, more complex system of Teflon and Aero-PE filaments that ensure a complete air dielectric system.
• The most revealing and lifelike presentation possible
• Compared to the Zero Evolution, The Grandmaster Evolution has a high-frequency bandwidth that is 50% greater, with a stunning low level of background noise contrasted with more image outlines and fine detail
• Revolutionary liquid micro-film (LMF) dielectric ensures a linear transfer of low-level ambient and spatial information

The Grandmaster Evolution Speaker Cable

The new Evolution speaker cable is a stunning achievement, boasting the greatest current-carrying capability of any speaker cable in the world, together with the High Frequency extension and linearity of a 32-gauge conductor. The Evolution Speaker Cable is an all air-dielectric design with 288 Rectangular Solid Core ® conductors per channel.

Importantly, the gauge size for each channel is far greater than any speaker cable ever made or ever conceived in history. The gauge size is not 10, or 6, or 4, or even 0. The gage size for an Evolution Speaker Cable is 000, that’s an area of 85 square millimeters per channel.

• BSM (with 1/4”or 5/16” Spades or Bananas)
• Gauge size is 000 = an area of 85 Square mm per channel
• SA-OF8N® copper.
• Each channel comprised of 288 Rectangular Solid Core ® conductors per channel
• Aero-PE® GMI™ dielectric.
• Separate positive and negative conductor run for each channel.
• Helixed Rectangular Solid Core® conductors and air-tube technology
• Gauge size is 000 = an area of 85 Square mm per channel
• Spectacular power and clarity. Absolutely neutral and coherent.
• Superb resolution of micro-detail and ambient information.
• Incredible dynamic contrasts & vivid imagery
• Holographic soundstage & superb resolution of micro-details
• Excellent imaging & absolute coherent and neutral
• Holographic soundstage & superb resolution of micro-details".

Well Then, I see the Buzz is beginning!, I too Talk to Devon Scott and Mathew Bond quite alot, I was told that the review to end all cable reviews was coming, Devon would not tell me the reviewers name, when the review comes out, or where, I am sure he will when it gets released, My question here is what is a WBF member?, what would be great would be a direct comparision to High-fidelity cable company's Very best cable in the up coming review, I noticed you posted prices, even if I knew them,BTW, I do!, I do not post retail prices of the new Tara Labs cable line, prices may vary from one dealer to another, and the distributors also may have different pricing for personal clients, so in the end, I refer all audiophiles to Devon Scott of Tara Labs, This way, Devon can do what he wants with the customer,I also posted detailed info on ALL new Tara Labs cable models on another thread a few months back, whoe and behold, a member from the High-fidelity cable thread complained, and in turn, The biggest cable thread about Tara labs was DELEATED!, Tara Labs Now has most of the info on most of the new cables, They yet added the new info on the New power cables, The new Cobalt Referance power cord, The New Evolution Omega Power cord, and the New Evolution Grandmaster power cord, currently I own the Tara Labs Zero Gold interconnect and Omega Gold Speaker cables, and The Standard Cobalt with Oyaide plug and IEC, On a Personal Note, I have NEVER heard a better cable than the interconnect and speaker cables I own, and yes, I have listened to some High-fidelity products, I have in the works of up-gradeing to the all NEW Tara Labs Evolution Zero interconnect and the ALL NEW Evolution Omega speaker cables, However, At the price, I admitt, This will Take me the next year or so to complete buying them, Really, It's no hurry at all, since the cables I own now are profound on my system, also I wanted you to know, I am one of the first people world wide to get all proto-type pictures and info on all Tara Labs Products before anyone else ever knows, Regardless, Himiguel, your post is a VERY welcome post to behold, Thankyou so much, you are welcome to this thread about Tara Labs cable owners, and Yes, You can also talk about anything off topic here!, another question to Himiguel, Do you own any of the NEW Tara Labs cable models yourself?, Thankyou Himiguel for such a wonderfull post, cheers to you, Happy Listening.
ok, I believe I figured it out on my own, WBF is what's Best Forum, I just read the member who bought the new Tara Labs Evolution Grandmaster cables post, I suspect more user post to be surfacing over the next year, all these cables are NEW!, The buzz takes a while for any profound product to come about, However, It's coming!
also, you need to know, The Duel Mono Block Grounding station on the Tara Labs Evolution interconnect has a componet ground, most of us use it on grounding to componets chassis, so when you get a product like Tripoint Troy signature power conditioner, It has a dedicated Ground that is well thought out, On further researching the post of the owner of the Grandmaster cables, He simply grounded to the Tripoint instead of a componet, In all reality, most any line conditioner with a dedicated grounding scheme would Hugely be better than grounding to a componet chassis!, This had NOTHING to do with the cable or Tripoint, Had everything to do with better grounding, I am sure the Tripoint is a fine product, many love them, I am sure I would too, cheers.
I can't but think that people that buy such high priced cables are not audiophiles but simply want to say I own a $500,000 music system! It's sad that those of us mere mortals will never hear such a product.
@ Rsf507, Welcome to the thread, Tara labs makes very good cables for less money, I might not get the Evolution Grandmaster, However, It is my believe nothing can surpass the 2nd from the top, Evolution Zero interconnect and matching Evolution Omega speaker cables, These are exspensive too!, But attainable,As A matter of fact, Tara labs is still selling the Zero Gold and Omega Gold,I own these cables currently, On my system, I know No better cable.
Audiolabyrinth, the WBF member asked my opinion about Tara Labs and I recommended them as a great choice. To many other cable manufacturers add to much false dynamic energy of their own are very editorial. Tara Labs conductor choice and grounding concept is a great match to showcase Tripoint strengths. Regarding Tripoint Troy Signature benefits, I promise you that the EMI/RFI noise rejection capabilities of this product is uncharted territory for most folks.
Hi folks. Anyone here use Tara Labs digital cables? I am looking to upgrade but the Cable Co does not demo Tara cables. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Himiguel, I took a peek at your system page, You own alot of Tripoint products, I hear and read many good things about this product, from what I understand, It is one of the very best of what it does, man, congrats to you!, you own quite alot of the Tripoint products, alot of $ for sure, I bet your system benefitted Hugely, can you elaborate on Tripoint products here for us, It would be a good read, Thankyou.
Tboooe, The Tara Labs The One digital cable with HFX station would be very good on your system, If you like The two with HFX station interconnect, you will love the model-The One digital cable with HFX grounding station, Good to see you Tboooe.
It's best to talk to existing Tripoint owners regarding their experiences. Plenty of them out there. The new Tripoint Emperor Ground and Emperor AC just went to a show in Asia where they made audio history. Check out one of the reviews from the show.

我是代我父的友人貼上以下文章:

I wish reviewers from the west would have come for the 2nd AE super show. The crew successfully set the international benchmark for public demonstration. I should say this is an “attitude” that simply does not exist elsewhere in the world. I have read so many positive reviews about the Vox Olympian speakers driven by a suite of Kondo flagship electronics in Munich 13/14. To be fair, I attended the Munich Show this year and had been to the room orchestrated by Kevin Scott of living voice. I spent 45 minutes there. The selected music for demonstrations was all well calculated. Tonality is beautiful and audiences were easily engaged by the music. To my picky ears, the system however lacks speed and transient resolution.

To be fair, the Cessaro performance in Munich 2014 driven by Tron’s cheaper line of electronics really sucked. There was no refinement. Resolution was vague. Details were rough. The speed might be there but sorry the roughness really hurt my brain. I had to leave after 15mins. I came back for the 2nd day, slightly better but the inferior quality of the electronics continued to prevail.

The AE guys are tremendously famous in the internet. Audiophiles from the west probably see them as a bunch of rich Chinese audiophiles who want to show off their expensive audio trophies. I felt the same beforehand until I attended the 2nd AE show. I was in “awe”. What I experienced last Sat in Hong Kong was simply “Live music” with a vanishingly low noise floor that allows the inner detail of music to bloom with genuine color. Those damn expensive ground filter boxes by Tripoint must be doing some serious works from behind. And one of the AE crews told me those SRA boards contributed no less than the ground/AC filters. Whoever you are, I can’t verify your claim. I can only comment from a total experience point of view.

Dynamics are almost no different from live concerts. And I do mean it because I come from the music industry. The replay of Peter, Paul and Mary was astonishing because it was so freaking real as though the audiences were teleported in time to the venue where the concert was took place. The Spanish guitars duo was another show stoppers. That exhibition hall was at least over 120 square meters. Energy fills the entire room. Refinement and resolution of details are all there without highlighting themselves. I suspect some seats might probably have more bass volume than others. But that is natural. The only criticisms I can imagine would have come from those “imaging freaks” associated with conventional speakers. Those who sat in the first few rows may find imaging bigger than those at the back row. Try listen to Jacky Cheung live in the first few rows in the HK Coliseum, imaging is much bigger with excessive bass. I can see the Chinese audiences were truly engaged by the whole event. And the standard is much higher than western counterparts. I truly mean it is a few planets away than what I experienced in CES and Munich.

If guys like Srajan, Edward Baker or whoever thought the Vox Olympian driven by Kondo was spectacular in Munich, my honest words to them – “Sorry pals, you have never had any experiences of ultra fidelity yet.” What they thought so great attained by the best in Munich is mid-end at best. And Ralph Krebs of Cessaro probably never knows what his speakers are really capable of if he keeps using Tron years after years for the Munich Show. The electronics by that skinny Robert guy and the white hair Yamada are way better than what was chosen for the Cessaro/TW acoustics room in Munich.

AE truly put forth a system that plays music as a wholesome experience. In comparison, the guys over Munich/CES shared a room purely to economize costs as the priority. Sound quality comes second without considering synergies. How do you explain Cessaro allowed cheap Tron electronics (mostly front end) to partner with the Lizst retail well over EUR120,000. To compare, the British chap is smarter. That was why he succeeded in winning compliments from audio journalists because he voices the big Vox with Kondo electronics. And that alone made him stand out as he had complete control on mating. And this room is indeed well ahead than those big German brands like Burmester and Avantgarde that sounds metallic and plastic respectively year after year. The standard of the Hi Fidelity industry is getting worst and worst with ever increasing price tag.

The whole execution of this show is one of a kind. It is unique and it is much higher class than anything out there. The boss seems like a man who excels in public speech. That probably deepened the color of the event. But I don’t care who runs the boat from behind. It is the content that matters. I am not an AE customer and will unlikely be one anytime soon. But I have to say that the AE crew had achieved something genuinely splendid. I admire the spirit of challenging the ‘status quo”. I encourage journalists from the west to attend the 3rd AE show next year. There is so much more to learn and write from just one single company than the sum of many companies who simply wandered in the audio forest with inadequate planning. Audio designers who think you have done a great job in designing electronics should look for a manager who can put together a system that allows your designs to shine through. If not, it does more harm than good very much too often.

Putting a matching system together is important. People think it's just a cable or company shoot out. You got to match your stuff up. Total system performance.
calvinj, your assesment is absolutly correct, However, The Excellent thing about Tara labs, Is they work on most systems to good effect, not all of them, just most.
Anyone out there had the chance to listen to any of the new tara labs power cords, such as the cobalt referance, The Evolution Omega, The Evolution Grandmaster power cords????
Hi there.First week back at work, not that easy, but I survived it.Not much happening mate., my pc isnt here yet , but cant be too far away.I got a furetech 20 amp socket keith, its very well made.I may throw that on the amp this weekend.
good to see you back misternice, what model number furetech recepticle did you get?, is it the gold or rhodium type?
Hi.. the f133 rhodium.Hopefully thats the right choice.Parts connexion was the best deal. The other crowd not mentioning names, had $114 for postage. So had to by pass that one.
Misternice-Bob, If you can get your hands on the Furutech GTX-Gold or GTX-Rhodium it would be the end game, the GTX furutech is suppose to be the best recepticle money can buy, it is a recepticle for the wall you are getting?, I am getting the furutech GTX model soon, the outlets have to break-in too, so you may not form your final impressions for some time, cheers.
Bob, The Tara labs Cobalt with oyaide terminations turned out quite good, I am satiesfied, during break-in, the cable had exagerated bass and a some brightness to the mids and treble, man has that all went away, I have learned you have to keep power going through the cobalt atleast a couple hours a day to keep it sounding great, if you leave the cable un used for two or three days, it will begin to sound un-burned in again, very strange, takes alot longer for all my other cables to not sound burned-in, like a couple of weeks or more, now, The Tara labs Cobalt does sound like a referance power cord, the bass is very defined, deep, and super fast, you can here music you never heard on your recordings before, the treble is incredible, the mids are too, really a very good balanced tone cable to say the least, clarity is top shelf, foremost, this power cable is lighting fast with slam!, not bad, since I only paid $1,000.00 for this 3ft cobalt with oyaide terminations, the terminations I discovered gives the cobalt a smooth warm sound to it, helps equal out alot with the extreme resolution, cheers.
Hi there, yes its definitely worth getting those recepticles, ill have to get a couple..My other v12 arrived yesterday,2 is better than 1,that's for sure.My system has just jumped a few more levels.Listening to it today, its just awesome.
congrats Bob, that is awsome, when the level does more, it's always good!, very well done, cheers
@audiolabryinth. What happened to all the other guys. Did you run them off.
I do not know calvin, I do not even see them any where on the audiogon these days, I have not said nothing to them to leave, I do miss talking to pops, Grey9hound, waxwaves, etc...
Post removed
@audiolabryinth. You are Mr. Tara Labs. I did like talking to them. I wonder what happened to the guys. Lol. Kieth you were tara labs from birth.
That is cute fellas, But I do not believe Tara Labs would go for that, sadly, I believe it's best not to call me Mr Tara Labs, patent infrigement comes to mind with many other bad etc..., any way, welcome to the thread Melbguy1, here we talk about any thing, there is no such thing as getting off topic here, it's the people's thread, as a matter of fact calvinj, melbguy1 knows alot about audio, especially particular tubes, ask him anything audio and you would be amazed with his accurate answers to help you, cheers.

Melbguy1, yes got that right, I can only dream about The Evolution Grandmaster cables, The next level down is called, The Evolution Zero I/C and Evolution Omega speaker cables, These are my target to get over the next two years, hopefully less time, who knows, I'm just working towards them is all I know, when I get my hands on them, these should be the last cables for me at this level, would be great to ride off into the sunset and be done with buying and selling, you know, getting off the merry go round, cheers.
calvinj, believe it or not, I have owned a few other brands of cables in my time, when I discovered Tara labs on my own, I remember, my first Tara labs interconnect, A $40.00 prism, then a $60.00 made for cd-digital prism, I was in owe how the cheap Tara labs was better sounding for little money back then compaired to other cables costing the same, But man, have times changed!, Tara Labs does not even make cables costing that kind of money any more, to tell you the truth, I do not know what their cheapest cables cost?, It's been a very long time that I have had the model called The One, and much higher models of Tara labs cables, off the top of my head, I believe I may have been buying Tara labs cables for atleast 20 years or 25 years, cheers calvin.

wow! Melbguy1, congrats on a fine cable, will you do some reviews of some of your cables and equipment here, this thread is up to 16,000 views, so you never know who you can find that may have in common the equipment and cables you enjoy, you can answer questions on what you have or owned would be an asset to us all, cheers.

Melbguy1, let me know where you do your reviews, I do enjoy the nice reads, I enjoy learning what you have to say, most of the equipment you have, I have no exsperience with, so all that you say will be a treat indeed, however, please elaborate about the gigawatt power conditioner here, if you do not mind, I will be in the market for such a device to go on my temporary cd-player on my main system, Temporary-meaning, I will be putting it on a second system when I am able to buy a much better piece, The vincent cd-s7 has a gorgeous sound, worth keeping for sure, it is a tube/solid state hybred player, it has the 12au7 times 1 and 12ax7 times 2, and a 6z4 recitifier tube in the power supply, an exceptional player for $2,500.00 that sounds better to me than the Ayon cd-2s that was alot more money, cheers.
Post removed
Thankyou melbguy1 for your great response, that is an awsome line conditioner!, I never seen one handle a high current amp either, thanks for the link as well to the conditioner, your new cd-player is very costly, I was shocked of the retail, not many players these days cost that, you been through alot, and alot of money, you deserve this player, ENJOY, Happy Listening.
Misternice, If you are out there, Melbguy1 lives in Australia to, maybe you should say Hi to him here, cheers.

David-melbguy1, that is my dealer for the furutech GTX -Rhodium or Gold recepticles, Chris is a great guy!, we have talked many times, for some reason, he reffered the Gold over Rhodium for my system, hey, check out this product he carries, It's called the plasmatron, very incredible, I talked to Steve nugent of Imperical audio about this, that is who brought it to my attention, then I talked to Chris Vanhause there at vh-audio and now have had a relationship ever since, tell me what you think when you look on the vh-audio site and research the plasmatron, do you know Bob-misternice?, I have had a great audiogon relationship with Bob for a while now, cheers.
Melbguy1, I am very interested to hear your thoughts on the GTX-R. I have used cryo'd R1 outlets for about 6 years and love them. It would be hard for me to imagine anything better. Please update us on your impressions compared to the R1.
