Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments?

I just bought Synergistic Research's new Tesla Accelerator speaker cables and Tesla Vortec interconnects from The Cable Company. I have tried many demo cables from The Cable Company over the past year. These were the first to give me that WOW factor I been looking for so long.

Does anyone have these cables and can you please post your impressions and comments? Thanks.
joeyboynj
I'm demoing (about 30 hours)one pair of the balanced Tesla's Accelerators(Sn. TAC IC 0334 - not sure if quantum tunneling is applied on these? can anyone tell?) in my system and I'm very impressed with the resolution and dynamics, but these cables sounds pretty harsh in the highs and upper mids, and somewhat on the cold side compared with the Nordost Frey...system mis-match or something else? :-(

Any thoughts would be much apreciated!:-)
Ted D,
Thanks. In our conversation from a few weeks ago you mentioned the QLS's (among other things...wink). My only issue was in the instance where you didn't need more than 10 outlets, just more room.

I'm very much looking forward to this Powercell opening up. Based on my purchases of the Accelerator IC's and SC's I don't doubt it one minute. :) Thanks again for the great customer service.
Ted
I have been waiting to hear from others before I try the Powercell and Enigma. Thanks for the reviews. Keep them coming.

I have a question: I have tried the T3 and the Precision AC power cords on my power regenerator. The best cord was the Precision AC. Has anyone compared these cables? And also the T3 UHO?

Ted_d, is the Precision AC recommended for power conditioners as well? It worked better over the T3 in my system. Also, is the T3 UHO an improvement over the regular T3 on power conditioners? I didnt really like the T3 on my power conditioner. It was fatiguing and was restrictive...especially in the highs. But I really like how the Precision AC sounds on my power conditioner it is much more extended and open. I assume it is a bigger AWG cable as well. Thanks.
Tedmbrady,
Your PowerCell will take approx 72 hours to fully open up while your T3 UHC will take at least twice this time. As to plugging in MPC's to the back of the PowerCell, we have 2 new affordable line conditioners that work in conjunction with the PowerCell especially for MPC's and front end components called the QL6 and QL9 (Quantum Line-Strip 6 and 9). These are simple but powerful little line conditioners with either 6 or 9 outlets. When used with MPC's they significantly improve the sound of Active Shielding when used alone, or when plugged into the back of the PowerCell for greater performance; effectively expanding your connectivity from 10 outlets to 16/19 outlets with no current limiting for your remaining 9 PowerCell outlets.

As to the bottom end, wait a week and you'll hear extension, dynamics and low freq control that will surprise you.

Yours in music,
Ted Denney Lead Designer Synergistic Research Inc.
My Powercell 10 arrived yesterday, and although a couple of issues arose Eliott, Michael and company (inc my dealer) were exemplary throughout. So..I have the 10 outlet version that has one powercord (T3 UHC) and 2 MPC's, one to power the cord, one plugged directly into a miniplug on the Powercell rear, next to the IEC inlet. I have that one plugged into the wall and the T3's MPC plugged into the Powercell (I need the other 9 outlets for my stuff).

One small bit of layout criticism that I shared with Eliott: I am eval'ing this conditioner against my current Audience Adept Response AR12. That box has it's outlets turned upside down (with ground plug up) and it easily accomodates wall warts in their correct polarity; they simply stick out the top, but allow for regular plugs in the duplex below them. The Powercell, OTOH, has normally positioned outlets which create a problem for MPC's and other wall warts. They either take up two outlets or they require the Powercell to be lifted off the shelf/surface to have enough clearance from the bottom outlet to the shelf/surface. I recommended either taller feet or doing the upside down thing. Eliott was very open to the feedback, as ever.

So.....how long should I let this thing settle in before critical listening? SR says 3 days, yet Ted earlier told me a t3 would take a minimum of a week. My dealer is being flexible but needs realistic timeframes.

My non-critical (yeah right) listening last night showed a conditioner that created a dead quiet space, with very more detail than I've heard previously, but a slightly rounded off bottom end. The Powercel had all of 3 hrs on it.

Thx
Ted
I just upgrade my speaker's wires from Accelerator to Precision Reference and today I called Synergistic's because I wanted to hear their recommendations in my system and I asked about the powercell and they commented me the EU version is already available and it comes with schuko I have a Shunyata V-ray and he insist I should try the powercell aparently excels the vray.
Andy... good to read your report. Keep us up to date. Yeah, I've heard the Enigma myself and have been simply astonished... no other words for it.

Anyone else out there have one willing to give their sense of the thing?
Well, I finally received the Enigma and let me just say that I am shocked by the result. It is hard to believe that something which is not formally in the sound chain could have this type of impact.

The impact I speak of is just as Ted describes it on his website, which, incidentally, i read after i listened yesterday, so i was not pre-conditioned. The main impact are to the soundstage and level of engagement of the music. The whole spectrum of sound widened by a significant degree and the music was more engaging, smooth, entrancing. The differences between the two tubes is interesting.

I really like the TungAr on the left because of it's ghost-like qualities and the incredible effect it has on the soundstage. But, as I was listening to John Coltrane (can't remember the album), a recording with instruments separated on the channels, the WE tube on the right was much better. It brought the group together more and sounded more cohesive.

All this comes with only my ICs plugged into the Enigma. I don't even have my PC cables plugged in yet. And I am getting a pair of headphones, Sony R10, with a special shielded cable that I will be able to plug in as well.

Anyway, this is an amazing piece of equipment. It is built like a tank and is absolutely beautiful. All hand-made.

System: APL NWO 3.0, SinglePower ES-2 (electrostatic headphone amp), Sennheiser HE90.

Joeyboynj, Jmo, Istanbulu: I have just received several Synergistic Research cables for evaluation in my system.

I installed the Precision Reference speaker cable, and I join your comments and good advices on this cable. After only 3 minutes in the system (thus not settle-in), the sound is fantastic: 0 (zero) distortion, great extension of the band-width in bottom and the top, incredible dynamics, depth of the soundstage and placement of the very precise interpreters. It is the "real deal" for my system. Your recommendations were excellent. This cable is fabulous and makes huge improvements.

I will test the Precision Reference interconnect, Precision AC and Hologramm A in the week. I hope that they will be as gifted to make good music as Precision Reference SC.
:)
Joeyboynj, I will try on my system 1 pair of Precision Reference speaker cable, 1 pair of Precision Reference interconnect and 2 Power Cable's Precision AC and Hologram A for my amplifier, because my T3 sounds bright & fatiguing in the triples (I carried out several tests with my other Power Cable's before discovering that it was the T3 which did not function on my Plinius SA-201 amplifier).

I hope that the Precision AC will be appropriate and that it will not raise the triples. Hologram A is perhaps the best choice, but it is really very expensive.

I think of receiving them at the end of the next week. I will give my impressions of listening ASAP.

You have a very beautiful system. I am French, and I know JMlab very well. If you wish to make evolve, with your Moon Evolution i7, you would have great satisfactions with the Diva Utopia Be.
Istanbulu,

I had information by TCC that the PowerCell in 230 Volts for Europe had the outlets to the US standards. I undoubtedly will choose the upgrade of my speaker cable (Accelerator to Precision Ref) or perhaps the IC preamp-amp (Accelerator to Precision Ref). For the PowerCell I will wait until it is to CE standards for Europe.
Jazz_59,

My understanding of the PowerCell is that it will handle Euro and US current no problems. I could be mistaken... again, check with Ted.

I called the SR lab a couple of days ago because I was curious about some of the same points of information, and Mike said that Ted was on his way back from the right coast (SR business meetings), so that might explain the delay in reponse to emails.

I'll give SR a call later today (from the left coast) and post something either later today or tomorrow.

Ed
Joeyboynj, Thank you still for your opinion, it joined that of others audiophiles & music lovers who like you had the possibility of tested. I will let myself try by the Precision Reference loudspeaker cable.

Thanks again.
Jazz_59, I have tried the Accelerator and Precision Reference I/C and also the Accelerator and Precision Reference speaker cables. I would agree with Jmo, the Precision Reference speaker cables will give you the best next upgrade from the Accelerator. I like both of them as I/C's and could have lived with either.
Jmo, Istanbulu: Thank you for your prompt answers. I sent several emails to Ted Denney, of practice it answer me, but lately I did not have an answer.

Jmo, which you have of other IC's with your Precision Reference SC?

Istanbulu, I was very interested by PowerCell, but only comes with USA type of outlets, and I'm in Europe.
Jazz 59... I think what Jmo says is what Ted might have said to me in the past regarding moving up the Tesla SC pattern. I have a very similar cable selection, so I am interested in what you find out... perhaps a call to Ted at SR would throw everything into sharper focus. If you do call, let us all know what you learned!

It's also my impression that the Tesla PowerCell at this point in your system pattern might be an important alternative.

:)

Jazz 59

I had the Accelerator speaker cables I decided to upgrade to the Precision Reference speaker cables right off the back there was a huge sonic improvement.
My sytem is all Synergistic Research Tesla and I am very happy with them. I would like to upgrade one or two cables.

What I have so far :

T3 power cord on Digital
T2 power cord on Preamp
T3 power cord on Amp
T3 UHC power cord on Power Line

Acoustic Reference XLR interconnect from Digital to Preamp
Accelerator XLR interconnect from Preamp to Amp
Accelerator speaker cable

I hesitate between replacing by Precision Reference line the speaker cable (my amp solid state 300W 4Ω 40A) or the interconnect from preamp to amp.

I do not know which with the most impact. Have suggestions?

Thanks again,
anyone know where to buy SR line in asia? i try to email SR but have no reply yet. i would like to try T2. anyone would like to sell?
Have any of you compared the D3 with Synergistic's Absolute Reference digital cable?

Many Thanks!
No I didn't try the D1 or D2. I'm using the D3 between my Wadia DAC & Nak MB1 Music Bank transport. In the pass I've used Tara Labs, Transparent & Siltech digital cables.
Yes. I have the D3 it's by far the best digital cable I have ever used.

Jmo, did you try the D1 or D2 first and what other digital cables did you use before?

Also, between what components are you using the D3?
Ozzy,

The Tricon Phono Analog IC was a great upgrade on my TT. Does anyone have any feed back on the Enigma?
JMO, totally agree! Now that my system is all SR , my system has never sounded better !

The music no longer seems to come from the speakers but floats in front, behind, around the sides...very impressive soundstage.
I was just listening to the MOFI Santana Remasters and wow do these rock ! The percussion sound is everywhere.

I have to replace one more cable. I'll be adding the Hologram A power cord to my amp and then I'll have total SR synergy. Every addition of SR products have been very positive within my system. That speaks volumes...
yeah, I agree. I really wonder why they haven't eaten the lunch and dinner of "the other guys." Major changes, all to the positive, each time a new cable enters the system.
I also acquired a T3 UHC for my amp, so now I have a T3 on my CDP, a T2 on my preamp, and a T3 UHC on my amp... startling experience in the bass (wow! wow!! wow!!!), and this just one more Tesla PC really cleaned-up and tightened the higher edges of things.

The soundstage is really deep and three dimensional now; voices and instruments seem to carve their space into the soundstage... just amazing what this stuff does!

The more Tesla is on the system, the better and better things are. Now I need a Tesla IC XLR for the CDP to preamp, and I will have Tesla's all the way around... looking forward to it... just a matter of time and $!

:)
Askat1988 did you get the Quattro yet. Please give us a full report on your findings.

Istanbulu, copngrats on finding the Tesla cables. I hope others are as lucky as you to try them through out their systems so they can hear how revolutionary these new cables are.
Just a moment to rave...
don't mean to bore everybody with further exclamations about these remarkable SR products...
but...

I just bought a pair of Tesla Accelerator speaker cables and...the difference between the Accels and my other SCs is quite significant.

I now have one pair of Accel ICs (XLRs), a T2, T3, and Accel speaker cables... each addition makes/has made such a difference!

I'd say the biggest difference these speaker cables have made simply has to do with the sensuous sense of music... everything about the music has opened/opens more...

Less of a sense of music coming from the speakers...

more the sense of music and its performance and performers being present in the room and it filling the room rather than it coming from two specific speakers.

Another thing, I like the much more defined and refined quality of being able to hear the slight separation (air), the edges of similar guitar notes and vocal notes, the slight and often very pleasurable distinctive edges between vocalists in a duet (for example)or a vocalist and similar piano notes and bass notes... it's the pleasing edges (not "edginess"), the outermost boundaries of each instrument's or vocalist's notes... that bring so much more to my enjoyment of music nowadays...

So much more transparency and musicality...
Joey,

Yes, i am surprised too. Ted wrote me separately and told me that they might not have an effect in my system because i only use headphones (very high-end stuff). This makes no sense to me, but i am not technically savvy here. In my mind, i should hear more of an effect with my headphones (Sennheiser HE90, Sony R10) since i hear every detail of the music i listen to.

I've got them plugged into their own strip in the right direction.

Anyway, i will try your test and see. The Enigma is supposed to come this week.
Askat1988, I'm surprised you dont hear a difference with the active shields turned on or off. Let the active shield charge about 3 days and listen to some music you are very familiar. Turn off the shields and wait a few minutes and then listen again. Turn on the shields and wait a few minutes and compare to all three sessions. Make sure you have the MPC plugged in correctly. They all should have the same polarity. Dont plug them in upside down. Use a power strip to plug them all in. I found that a PS Audio Quintet works great of 5 MPC's in the bottom plugs and components pluged into the top plugs.

Also, Let us know when you get your Enigma and your impressions.
Ozzy,

I will have to agree with you totally. I just added the Hologram D power cord this past weekend the sound-staging is bigger, deeper and the music is so much more dynamic. I guess I'm going to have to break down and get the Hologram A for my amp.
You are in for a real surprise when you go all SR. Another thing I found is that the soundstage height seems to bloom when I have a Quattro-T2 driving all of the cables.

I ordered a Tricon Analogue phono cable today after trying the store demo. I guess I'll be spinning a bit more vinyl in the future!
Just ordered the Apex bi-wire Speaker Cable. That will complete my All Tesla Cabling.

Power Cords
Hologram D
Hologram A
T2
Interconnects
Apex interconnect
Precsion Ref interconnect

Some things I have learned on the way.
1. With each addition the soundstage gets bigger and deeper.
2. Even with putting each cable on my Audiodharma Cable Cooker for 4 days before using, they still take about a week of listening to break in.
Dynguy,

Being that the Cable Company is the middle man you will be best served contacting Synergistic Research directly. SR, will be doing all of the repairs anyway and you will actually save time. They have great customer service.

Joeyboynj, the Hologram D, arrived today. After letting the Hologram D, settle in this PC is sweet as candy. I'm using it on my DAC and a T3 on my transport. I plan on switching it back & forth to find the best match... I'm betting on the DAC she the brains of the operation. :O) I really like this PC it brings everything together in perfect harmony,
Yes, one of my T3 lights went out and I sent it to SR for repair.

Couldn't tell you if the Active Shielding is working or not since i hear no difference with or without in my setup (MPCs into wall), but i do not have a Quattro. My Enigma should be here soon so i hope this helps the shielding.

I have 3 T3s, 1 Apex XLR, 2 Precision, and 1 Hologram D.
Hi All,

I tried to do a search but I did not find anyone with a similar situation.

The blue LED has gone out on my T2. I have swapped the MPC from my other Cords and the LED is still out.

Has anyone havd a similar problem? Mine are just two months old. I don't think the Active Shielding is engaged either on the T2.

The Cable Company is great and I am returning to them to check.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.

Thanks
Rick
Joeyboynj,

I went ahead with it the Hologram D will ship tomorrow... I will keep you very well informed with my findings. :O)
Joeyboynj,

I sent Steve from TCC an email today letting him know I'm interested in auditioning another Hologram D. I also requested would they please make sure that they ship the correct US version not a Euro version. Lastly please make sure this one doesn't have any intermittent problems.

Other then that I'm very pleased with all of the SR products I audition. My Tricon Analog phono cables will be arriving tomorrow...
JMO, you must try the Hologram D. Ted's system of power cables were built around this most important PC. If I had to choose the best PC from his line, it would be the Hologram D on my source.
I need to give the Hologram D another try. The 2 that I audition from TCC had a slight problem one was a euro version and the other had a intermittent problem with the plug it kept shorting out.

I know the SR Hologram A & D power cords are on top of the food chain. When the mods on my amp are completed I will be using the Hologram A power cord. Then I will have complete Synergistic Research synergy. :O)
Can't wait to try the Hologram D on the new player. I ordered it in January after hearing it at CES.
