Streaming with vintage DACs

Does anyone here stream with a vintage (ca. 1980s or 1990s) DAC? I've been considering them lately since they're mostly ladder DACs. However, I was informed today from a technician at a very well respected Amerian audio company that the receiver chips in them won't support a lot of streaming formats since they aren't PCM? I've been streaming for years, can't imagine how this is an issue

There are several R2R ladder DACs out these days, so it’s not necessary to revive an old DAC unless you just want to.
That is nottrue most streams are pcm  it really also depends on the streamer you use

However most old davs are going to sound poor compared to a modern dac
though a few are very vocal about loving older DAC's,  I believe most do not...
All the DACs of that era to which I was exposed to sounded very, very poor in comparison to today’s DACs, at least at the mid to high end.
