Streamer Recommendation

Please Give me an Idea of a great streamer to Go between Bryston Bda-3.

Im looking for something that accepts BNC into my DAC.

I have a Audiophilleo Which is excellent, Large difference when using this compared to just plugging laptop into the usb on the bryston alone.

Just looking for an excellent interface with Without a Huge Library capability which I wont use.

Like to use my laptop or whatever to direct play without wires.

500 used, Looking at Lumin/ Aurender.

Thanks in advance

I am a big fan of Aurender. I have tried a lot of approaches, including a Auralic Aries G2 and have been really impressed with Aurender. I own two… see my systems under my user ID. They arguably make the best high end streamer… used  most frequently in audio shows and that is the only component they make. I have found each level up, is well worth the incremental cost and their Conductor app is highly reviewed.

“Looking at Lumin/ Aurender”

There are couple of Lumin D2 or U1 listed on US Audio Mart and here if you’re flexible with your budget. I am afraid, you’re not going to find a Aurender anywhere close to your budget with BNC output. You would need to step up to a used Aurender N10 for BNC connectivity.

The app interface is a critical piece of streaming experience so choose wisely. The Lumin app is pretty decent but Aurender’s conductor app is the best app after Roon. It’s stable, well laid out and uncluttered in direct contrast with Roon.

Good luck!

I started with a Blusound Node (the new one).  It sounded very good for the price.  Eventually, I started wondering if there was another, not amazingly expensive, alternative.

Then, I realized that my Bryston BDP-3 could stream Qobuz (duh).  It sounds very, very good.  The only downside is the Bryston app.  It only allows for a very small percentage of the Qobuz functions. So, I end up using the Qobuz app to look for new music, then search for what looks interesting through the Bryston app search function.  This is a pain, but the sound quality makes it worthwhile.

I had the bdp3, which I have criticized extensively in other threads due to Manic Moose, but for Qobuz I did the same thing as kenrus, using the Qobuz app to put a music choice in the favorites and then select favorites on Manic Moose
