Steely Dan - Katy Lied - Just Released On SACD

Question-If you can't decode SACD, will this release sound better than the ones currently on the market? I recently picked up a used 1999 Katy Lied CD, and am underwhelmed by the sound quality.

Yes this has long been the problem with KL, it's compressed sound and lack of dynamics. Subsequently this has been put down to bad Dolby EQ. This edition together with other SD Analogue Productions re-issues have been re-mastered without Dolby EQ.

I have Can't Buy A Thrill and Aja both re-mastered by AP and Bernie Grundman and they are probably the best editions available on SACD.

However I have all the SD Japan SHM SACDs that were released and Pretzel Logic and Countdown to Ecstasy that were released by Universal Japan in SACD format.

If you don't have a SACD player or the means to rip and play SACDs you're really missing out.

This is a hybrid SACD which contains a regular CD track which I'm confident of that  it will be the best quality CD edition available.
