Primetime74, I guess that’s your call on the 2 or 3 but I think the old “better to have it and not need, than need it and not have it” but it usually comes down to the budget which why I don’t have the 5s although I haven’t missed them.
Sonus Faber Nove II or III
I currently have the Sonus Faber Sonetto V's paired w a Moon 330a and Lumin T2 streamer. I absolutely love and enjoy the Sonetto's. However, I can't get rid of upgraditis. My dealer is offering a trade in deal, so I'm looking at the Nova II and III. All they have is the Nova V's to audition. I'm currently in an apartment which does limit my volume to an extent. I've read varying answers as to how much more depth output the III's have. I listen to most forms of music expect country and new hip hop. Metal and jazz are what I listen to most.
Any help with comparison would be appreciated.

@theo No doubt budget is a factor. While I have the money I'm torn because I bought new speakers, amp, streamer, and cables last year! If business stays stable I'll likely buy one or the other. |
@ primetime74 Just seeing this post from April 2024. I currently have Sonetta V speakers and I'm considering the Moon 330A or 761. How did the 330A perform with your Sonetta V's ? Does it lack anything or it' is your go to amp? Did you get the Nova III and if so how is the Moon 330A with those speakers? Do you feel like you should of upgraded your amp to the Moon 761? Long term I'll probably end up the the Nova III. Thanks for any feedback. |
@singere I didn't buy either Nova. I was about to pull the trigger, likely on the Nova II but my fiance said I should wait. I'm glad she did because work slowed down. As far as the Moon 330a, I absolutely love it. It's musical enough, but not coloring the sound. It produces excellent detail, nuance, while keeping the music fun. I couldn't imagine how amazing the 761 is.

@primetime74 If "Heavy Metal" is prevalent on your playlist avoid mid/upper level Sonus Faber loudspeakers. Consider JBL or Klipsch. Not putting the music genre down(love it) but the recording SQ of most metal is atrocious! |
