SMSL PL200T AMAZING POWER SUPPLY UPGRADE

I had repeated issues with my Shanling ET3 remotes being extremely fragile, breaking at the slightest fall on a hard floor (a non issue for desk top users). Worse, replacements are hipping from China, in my case 3+ weeks, so I bought a SMSL PL200T, which has a USB input for an outboard power supply. I opted for a $119 iFi which was a very nice upgrade with 30 day money back from Amazon. As the free return was about to run out I saw they also have an Elite PS for $299, and curiosity got the better of me. If you can afford it go for it. Best $300 if you're serious about improving CD playback. I'll get into it later, just wanted to get this posted

Hi Tweak1,

I just bought the SMSL Transport, I really like it. I have Genelec 8330 montitors on my desk with a Genelec 10inch subwoofer. These speakers are digital with an internal AKM dac so you can run the SMSL through the AES/EBU output direct to the monitors digital input. Superb,

Recently I have been subscribing to Amazon Music but the SMSL Transport outperforms streaming via the Singzer SU6.

My upgrade has been the addition of a cheap GPSDO external clock. The one I have has 4 x clock outputs (these are very cheap). For my main system, I have a Gustard X-30; therefore, you can use the same external clock to synchronise them, resulting in superb results.

I came across your thread because I was choosing either the ET3 or the 2000T. Apart from remote issues, I am not sure which one you think has superior sound. I mainly chose the SMSL because it has the external clock option. I am very happy with it. Right now it's playing Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. Fantastic.

Btw I Thought you may have got more feedback on this item, but maybe its considered a low status item.
