Looking to upgrade a new cart to my TT

Get yourself a better Dynavector if your dealer can make a discount for you. 

I agree with Chakster- the better Dyna is the way to go

I'm new to MC, drove myself crazy learning about  MI, MC, Ohms, SUTs, MC theoretical advantages, one of which is greater channel separation, ...

I found, the advantages are rarely realized in measured/published/reviewed specifications, same as with MI, until you get into very pricey models. And even some very pricey models have not too special separation or channel balance.

I found AT came out with their limited edition statement cartridge AT ART 2000, I was chasing one of them, ... 

then I found, AT has a current MC with the same separation specs and tight channel balance as that great cartridge (among other things)

It sent my beloved Shure V15VxMR upstairs to my office system, I believe it is the greater separation that improves imaging, which improves involvement, appreciation of individual player's contributions, Jazz trios, small groups, big bands ... and all other music as well. Lynyrd Skinner sounded great last night.

Ask your dealer about Dynavector exchange/upgrade program. 
Maybe you can ship the old one to them to get the next model you want?

I'm going to my dealer today. I'll see what kind of deal I can get. I saved up quite a bit in my fun cookie jar. Looking forward to giving this TT a very good cart.

Went to my dealer and ended up w/a Dynavector 17DX. He had this cart on the stores Luxman PD-171 TT. So I listened to a few record tracks and was sold. Got a nice discount around 17%. I'm bringing in my TT next week when the cart comes in.

The best I tried in this series was 17D2 mkII, your DX must be better.  

I’ll have the TT back next Wednesday. Probably need some break-in around 50 hours. I will definitely report back.

I just want to add, after living with this cartridge a while now, last night I listened to Jose Feliciano, 10 to 23, side 2, last track is Hey Jude, 8 minutes with a long guitar solo.

I've yapped about channel separation, The tight channel balance produced a Rock solid center, awesome.

I've had the Dynavector Karat 17DX cart on my Luxman TT for about a week and I couldn't be more impressed. The bass is deep and detailed. The top end still has bite but no harshness. Also greater detail in the background instruments and singers. Plenty of air between singers and instruments. I played the song Summer by War a track which has numerous instruments in including Kettle drums plus a variety of singers. You could clearly hear everything. Prior to this I had a 20XL2 which is an excellent cart but the 17DX is truly a big step up. The cantilever is just 1.7mm long. You really have to look to find it. Dynavector provides you w/a brush for the tip. They say not to use any commercial cleaners or vibrators. Lots of great carts in this price range. If your looking one you should consider. By the way the phono I'm using is in my Luxman CL38U SE a three tube design. Won't go past 10 o'clock w/out the neighbors pounding the ceiling. Also sounds great for late night listening.
