Simaudio 600i V2 volume control.

I will contact the seller as well as Simaudio but being a Friday night I thought I would post here to insure I am not missing something. I just purchased a NOS Simaudio 600i V2 integrated and it sounds great and everything seems to be working except,  the volume knob increases the volume turning it clockwise AND counterclockwise. Either direction and the volume goes up. The remote works fine. I am wondering if this might be setting thing. Any Simaudio exerts out there that can help clarify this issue?

Sorry to hear you need to return it .   Unfortunately that can happen when something is stored and not used for a long time.  Good luck with your search.

That's not right.  I have the 600i v1 and am unaware of any setting that would make that possible.

I have found if I jiggle the volume/select knob just right and hurl the correct foul insults at the amp it returns to normal function. Just giggling and insulting by themselves does not work. Now it is working correctly but will talk to the seller about remedy, it is a very reliable audio dealer so I am sure that they will help me out.  It really sounds wonderful with a MSB analog dac and Dynaudio C1 platinum speakers.

If you really like it and they will cover the repair and shipping it's probably worth the effort.  Moon is good stuff.

I own a 600iv2 and this happened to me recently. The unit was unplugged and had not been used for over a month. When I plugged it in and turned it on it behaved the way you described. Totally disappointed and turned it off. The next day I turned it on again and the problem went away; unit has worked normally since (crossing fingers).
