Schiit Freya + and reel to reel question

Obviously a well regarded component. Just wondering with the lack of a tape loop or fixed out, could anything be configured to allow recording of vinyl and occasionally cd to tape?

Don’t think so.  That’s the problem with budget preamps, not many features to keep the cost down.
Nonsense. The Freya has more useful features than nearly any other tubed preamp out there, at any budget. To record from one you simply take one of the 3 outputs into a recorder and just set the levels. Since very few people record anything to tape these days, most preamps (including very expensive ones) have eliminated tape loops.
So I would need to set and leave the volume on the preamp alone then adjust the level of each channel and record?
Sounds easy. Thanks.
Schiit Freya + and reel to reel question
Guys, if you used the Freya as a passive, and turned the volume up full, there’s your tape loop, from input to output. You just can’t monitor that all, but I'm sure the reel to reel has a headphone output

Cheers George
George that would also work very well.
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I can make it work. I’m going to have a tough choice to make. Initially, I am going to bi amp  Calibre XD's with my Rogue Cronus Magnum (which I love) and see how that works. I think it will sound great. The only thing is it wont be able to take advantage of the balanced inputs on the speakers.

I MAY consider selling the Rogue and get the Freya + to still get a great tube sound and take total advantage of the balanced inputs and have the powerful ICE amps running the speakers full range.

Opinions welcome.
You can use a source selector and some Y adapter/cable to build your own Tape monitor/loop.
On the source ( CD and phono stage ) output connect a pair of Y adapter/cable, one end go to Freya+ input, another end go to source selector input, the source selector output connect to reel to reel input and the reel to reel output connect to one of the Freya+ input.
Since the $49 Schiit Sys has two input, it is a good contender for the job as a Tape monitor/loop selector!
