Has the ability to reorder aa playlist disappeared? I did it the old way and it worked once but that was all. Not even sure how/why the first try worked.

Update works great for me on all devices. Had a great listening session last night but I didn't think to attribute the SQ to any Roon improvement; just credited a couple of good recordings that I happened to choose. I'll listen more closely for any perceived improvement from 1.8. The UX is slick but mostly familiar and intuitive. I need to dive into the new Focus feature some more; it's promising accordingly to a couple of youtube vids I've seen from beta testers. Cheers, Spencer |

@allane The changes in SQ surprised me. I was not expecting any SQ changes. Significant (as in most noticeable): More body, weight and impact. Cleaner / more transparent / more opened up. An additional ease / flow to the music. I need to listen more to get a feel for whether there are aspects lessened. |
@david_ten I need to spend more time listening (mainly I have been learning the new interface and features), but I can confirm that there is no loss in sound quality. I might even lean toward a slightly better sound, but I will not make that claim official until I have more listening time. What are your thoughts? |
@tvad It appears that Roon have some server issues, as to be expected for today’s release. The Roon Community forums were down for most the day. I think things with 1.8 will get worked out as new bugs are addressed and the servers get back to a normal load. So far, I’m having a great experience, but I haven’t used all the features, yet. Please keep me posted as to your progress. Thank you! |
A great new improvement that is likely not considered by most people is the GPU usage on the ROON client. It used to be so bad that I would shut down the client and restart it again whenever I needed to select music (prior to v1.8). The Client also did not play nice with NVidia computer graphics drivers. I had to separate my ROON CORE and CLIENT into 2 machines. Which also gave many other advantages. Today with the new v1.8 the GPU usage is under 10% on my cheapo DELL computer which has 6 monitors attached to it. A big win in my books. These GPU issues were also a problem on MACs though I do not run it on my MAC anymore. One issue I had with the upgrade was that I lost RDP connectivity to my ROON CORE computer server. I rebooted that server and will see how it goes. It is working well now. |

I have early access to 1.8. It’s really good, and I like it. It’s not earth shattering improvement over the current version, it’s just better. Better looking and better functionality. I cannot possibly post better stuff than what already posted in major professional reviewer sites like Darko or Michael Lavorgna. Or even in Roon’s own daily emails to current subscribers |
