Remote volume out on TAD-150 preamp..options?

I have a TAD (Tube Audio Design) 150 preamp, designed/built by Paul Gryzbek.  The preamp was quite poplar here maybe 15-20ish years back.  My remote volume went out.  The remote works, but the volume pot in the preamp no longer responds.  Sadly, Paul passed away a number of years ago.  I had a local audio repair guy look at it and he said it's beyond his understanding.

Any ideas who/where it could be fixed?   I'm in SE WI.

So if it's only the remote that doesn't work then place a Placette Remote Volume after it. They're around $400 used and when you eventually change pre-amps you can sell the Placette for almost what you paid.

To tide me over I'm using a passive preamp with a remote volume control(source>DAC>preamp>passive preamp>amp>speakers).

I works and sounds fine.  The preamp itself works as it should..it just requires manual volume control..which is not me.  I use the remote volume too much to replace it with me getting up constantly.

Pretty sure Paul bought those from Audcom in China and then modded them here in the states. A quick search showed that Audcom still exists, so it might be worth pursuing that avenue.
