Rega RP1 Turntable plays BACKWARDS...what to do ?

I just purchased this Rega turntable used,.. and it spins backward.
When turned off and then back on quickly it corrects itself.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what to do to remedy .

If the motor was replaced, it could have been wired incorrectly
