Question to AA Capitole owners

How to tell the difference between Capitole mk I and mk II ? Doeas the text "32bit/192khz STARS SRC" on the front plate mean that this is an mk II model ?

BTW - I can detect a slight hiss from my tweeters when the player is on (even from my listening position) - is it normal ?

The hiss disappeared just as suddenly as it has appeared this morning. Maybe it was because I moved & disconnected the player and the tubes neded time to stabilise ... who knows. It was definately coming from the player though, since when I hit the Mute button, the hiss was gone.

Thanks for the clarification - the player I borrowed from my dealer has no knobs and 32bit written on the front panel, so it has to be the mk II model.
When running directly into the amp you should not have any hiss that should be coming from the Audio Aero. Some amps will generate that hiss sound regardless of what is plugged into it. Do you get the hiss from other sources too?
Take a look at the classified ads. In the header is the MKI or MKII designation. Physically, the two don't look the same. Among their differences, the MKI has two large knobs on the face plate, the MKII does not.

The MKI face plate and it's sdesign is different from the MKII. The MKI has knobs and buttons on the face plate the MKII does not. The MkII has the 32 bit written on the front plate the MKI does not. Are you running directly into the amp?
