PS Audio built into room circuit?

What we need now is a remote control for PS Audio's Multiwave... Attn: Paul McGowan! Make that an RF remote, since infrared won't penetrate through floorboards

I have considered the same, but, I want the option of being able to change the configuration of the voltage/frequency and multiwave without a 100 foot walk. Also for me, the room below the living room is the boiler room and I don't think it would help the PS Audio.

If you do make the change, I'd appreciate hearing from you as to the effect it has, if any, on system performance.

Bill, i'm going to be checking into doing something similar but will be using a different approach. Since i have a basement, this might allow me to take the power regenerator out of the room entirely. I'd like to try mounting the power regenerator directly under the other gear on a wall mounted shelf. As such, i might be able to simply slip a short cord up through the floor or even install an outlet in the wall for direct access. Will have to check into this first before doing any surgery, but thought i might pass it onto you or others that might be in a similar situation. Sean

Currently, my amp and PS Audio are on a Zoethecus 2high amp stand situated between the speakers and almost exactly at the midpoint between the speakers. My intent is to get the amp lower to the ground to improve the soundstage. In your opion do you think that the benefit, if any, of moving the PS Audio away from the front end pieces and amp and lowering the amp would be apparent and if so, enough to justify running a twenty foot PS Audio Lab cable?

Hi Bill, I'd bet that PS Audio or other manufacturers would be happy to sell you a run of their power cord (e.g. Lab Cable or Mini Lab Cable) in unterminated form that you could run in the walls. The 1" diameter Lab cable may ruin the structural integrity of your house, but would sound damn fine! The minlab or Cardas Golden would be more appropriately sized for in wall runs. Also, check The Parts Connection, as they probably sell higher-end shielded in-wall cables at more reasonable prices.

I think that the idea behind the PS is that the power being supplied to the equipment is clean, a symmetrical sine wave, free of RFI & EMI, etc... A power cord with similar attributes of RFI / EMI rejection could only help maintain the integrity of what the PS was producing. Using standard Romex type cable would only act as an antenna in my opinion. Something that made use of either heavy shielding or a "self shielding" design like braiding, star quad, twisted pairs, etc... would be more appropriate for something like this. Just my opinion, so take it for what it is worth ( a little bit less than $0.02 ). Sean

I want the wiring to be in the wall. Do you think the effect of using a non powercord after the PS Audio will reduced the effect of the PS Audio?

If you want to do something like this, simply run the aftermarket cord of your choice from the PS to the extension outlet. Another option is that there are several companies that make "power strips" that either make use of that company's power cords or have an IEC receptacle for use with the cord of your choice. Sean
