Processor direct to amp?

I’ve previously passed the output of my Bryston SP3 processor through a preamp. While my rack is being modified, I’m trying to use the SP3 to drive a NAD M-22 directly without success. I bought the NAD used several years ago with the idea of using it for cable, but have yet to do so. It may be defective or perhaps the SP3 may lack the voltage to drive an amp directly. I’m skeptical it’s the voltage because the SP3 drives a pair of NAD C-268 amps used for surround, on the other hand there is no audio from either channel.

Check to see if there is a switch for balanced/unbalanced on the back of the amp. :)
The problem was pilot error. I hadn’t read the manual and didn’t realize there was a button to press to move it from standby to on. The smaller NAD C-268 amps turn on with signal. I’m using the M-22 in balanced mode., driving KEF Reference 1s. The source I’m listening to as I write is a Stereophile Test disc played using the Ayre DX-5 DSD. The sound is excellent, perhaps a just bit brighter than the DX-5 through the Ayre KX-5 and VX-5.
