I don't need the phono stage.
My thoughts were that the Acurus is both hardware and software upgradeable I don't think the Lyngdorf is I don't want to have to keep buying new units every few years.

@dsk3 You can communicate with the dealer through USAudio mart Just ask him about the upgradability of the Lyngdrof |
I ordered the Lyngdorf mp-60 2.1 After convercing with the Acurus sales rep about the ACT 4 vs the Lyngdorf he stated that the Lyngdorf was not hardware and software upgradeable, which is false (Lyngdorf contacted me and stated that their product is in fact both hardware and software upgradeable). That statement by the rep made my mind up, you should at least be truthful about the products and rely on the quality of your products to sell themselves.

Have you talked to an Acurus dealer or with Indy Audio Labs ? With Lyngdorf , you will own a highly regarded brand. They will still be there in 10 years . let us know about your thoughs when your unit will be calibrated and burned in

Good for you!!! Their room correction is legendary and I totally think you made the right decision and will be thrilled with the results. I’ll just say, I’m jealous, and please report back on what I’m sure are going to be fantastic results. I heard a TacT room correction (the former company of Lyngdorf) and the results were nothing short of stunning. And that was his OLDER technology. IMHO, you made the right choice! |

All I can tell you is I heard TacT’s room correction in a roughly $200k system, and with the room correction turned off the system sounded broken to the point where I’d never consider listening without it — it was that significant. I think maybe they’re thinking of the standard EQ programs on most AVRs and prepros that I wouldn’t use either, but I can assure you Lyngdorf is light years ahead of those programs. |
