Polk vs KEF

Question for the hive-mind...
I’m looking at a pair of KEF reference 105/3 speakers. I currently only stream with Jolida tube DAC and Rogue chronus magnum into Polk Signature SRS 3.1 tl’s. Thoughts?

KEF  is far better than Polk .
If you listen to boomy rock you might disagree .
KEFs of that era are extremely satisfying. You will want to be sure any 105/3, or 107 for that matter come with a working Kube. Its amazing how many sets of these speakers are sold without the Kube. I think sellers don't include them on purpose so they can sell them on e bay for top dollar.
If you're planning on keeping the Rogue integrated (I don't see a tape loop), I would ask them about integration with the Kube. You would want the ability to output a signal to the Kube and then back into the power amp part of the Rogue to accept the Kube's EQed signal.
If you cannot connect the Kube in this setup, move onto another speaker.
As to drivers, I found enough spares on e bay to keep my 107s running for a lifetime. They're out there, as are refoam kits for the midbass/bass drivers. The foam does disintegrate over 20 years or so.

The older KEFs represent a great value, but it's like owning a 70's muscle car. They need a little maintenance to keep them running.

The Kef should out play the Polk...I like their sweet soft non-fatiguing sound.

I owned the R105/3 for 25 years. I sold them a few years ago for $650.
93.5 db eff is the highlite, Amazing midrange, pitch definition, dynamic range etc. The compromise is the bass can't keep up with the rest and replacement tweeters are nonexistant.
