Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid @howardlee , I’m not sure where you saw the 352’s dimensions, but according to the McIntosh’s own literature, the 352 is roughly 17.5” deep: Unit Dimensions (W x H x D) 17-1/2" (44.5cm) x 9-7/8" (25.1cm) x 17-7/16" (44.3cm) I see now…McI...
Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid I own equipment from both PrimaLuna and McIntosh. (Evo 300 Power amp, McIntosh C2300, and MCD-1100.) As for reliability, I’d consider the Evo Floyd and McIntosh to be a draw. The PL gear is built to a very high standard as is most McIntosh gear. ...
Questioning Interest In MoFi Speakers Thanks @viridian, best comment I’ve read in a while Their process was, albeit unintentionally, their greatest contribution to this hobby. I can still taste the schadenfreude.
Integrated Tube Amp approx. $2,500 I can second newfxz ‘s suggestion on the Muzishare X7. I owned one for a short time, and only sold it to move to a dedicated power amp. Great build quality and it’s point to point wired which should offer better reliability and ease of repair by ...
DIfferences in Philips Miniwatt 12AU7 Some Philips history to help you decide: https://upscaleaudio.com/pages/philips-holland-factories The Holland production is a safe bet. Only you can say if they help your system. Also beware of tube generalizations (like “Mullard 12au7s sound w...
Do you Know a Trusted Seller of Chinese Vacuum Tubes? Apos Audio sells their relabeled Ray tubes with a 1-year warranty. I’m a couple weeks into a quad of their kt-88s, and no complaints so far. They claim testing for noise and microphonics on their signal tubes.
KR Audio KT88 Vacuum Tubes @verdantaudio , as a dealer, perhaps you can answer a question on where they’re manufactured? This Moon Audio listing claims made in the USA which could help some justify their higher price. However, I thought KR was based in Czechoslovakia an...
The Galion Audio TS A75 amplifier: Great amplifier for very little money With Doge/Galion? None. I don’t maintain a YouTube channel, and it’s merely a rebrand exercise My post I was not meant to slight Teajay or his contributions here. I enjoy his reviews and often find great music recommendations or insight to pieces...
Best sounding headphones you have owned? @freediver, mine are beryllium drivers with John’s warm yet detailed tuning. I’ve not heard his bio wool drivers so I cannot offer a comparison. I can say the beryllium drivers sound fairly neutral from top to bottom. Not too warm, not too detailed.
The Galion Audio TS A75 amplifier: Great amplifier for very little money The Galion offerings rely on a small network of Thomas’ YouTube pals to hype (assuming Doge’s) product. Perhaps no one is taking the bait when the market is flooded with other established brands from the far East.
Check This Out! It’s certainly different. Agree with @yoyoyaya on the OMA vibes this gives off. The source selection via signal reception is neat, and necessary since it lacks any buttons. The casework is unique, but I feel when products go over the top on the ...
Best sounding headphones you have owned? JM Audio XTC 2.5s here. I feel John could charge double and they’d still be worth it given his tuning services. Really one of the best high-end bargains I’ve found.
First impressions of new MH-DA006, Musetec flagship Thanks for the review! It certainly looks like a step up in design and engineering from the 005. I’ll be curious to see if the ASR guys test the new unit in comparison to the older one.
Holo May KTE Power Cord More Holo May DAC enthusiasm here. My L2 is powered with a Pangea AC-14 power cord and under your $1000 used price barrier. No complaints to be heard in my system. YMMV.
Is there Tannoy Magic / Should I buy a pair of Tannoys as "accessory" speaker? I own a pair of Coatbridge built Legacy Ardens, and the footprint of my room is close to yours at 17’x13’. The speakers do not overwhelm the room with excessive bass given their front ports, and are quite flexible regarding placement. However, toe... |
