Pass labs xa30.8 vs Krell evo 402e

I had the Dyns C2s with ML 432 amp. (400wpc) And they do need lots of power to sound right. For me most times I was finding myself turning up the volume all the time. Don't get me wrong great speaker just power hungry.

Dyn C1 requires more power. The X250.5 was an excellent match.

Also, someone is selling a cello duet 350 on audiogon. How would this amp compared to those two mentioned in this thread then? I know they use their own type of plug and I wanna know the resale value of cello too. Thanks!

I can't say from experience, but it appears as though your speakers are bit insensitive. As such the more powerful Krell (yes, I know the xa30.8 has much more headroom than might appear at first glance) might help with your immediate concern, but what other trade offs that come to be, might or might not be worth it. As suggested above, there might be other ways to remedy your concerns.

Yuhengdu, perhaps your speaker placement and room interaction is not optimal? Pass and C1 pairs favorably for me. The Krell might give you more resolution as Extravaganza mentioned. You have to bring in the krell or other amps/sources to experience which one sounds better. Enjoy the search.

The veiled vocals has nothing to do with your Pass gear

I think krell will sound more analitical and cleaner with more control over the sound while pass will be on the warmer side of things,less control,but enjoyable too.C1 vocals are excelent.

Yes I was using int30a before. It's the xa30.5 inside it. So do you mean int30a will have veiled vocals but not the xa30.5 separately?

Ok. I am using schiit ygg as dac and xa30.5 as amp. preamp is going to be tortuga ldr

you need to post all your equipment, including speakers so we can help troubleshoot. The vocals on that amp (XA30.5) should be anything but veiled.

We've used a Pass XA-30.5 with our Wilson Sasha speakers for over a year before purchasing a pair of XA-200.5's.
If your system has far / veiled vocal reproduction issues, it's not the amplifier.
The 30.5 amplifier is one of the most natural sounding amplifiers I've ever heard. This compared to live music and voices.
