I have an RP-7 paired with an a21+ and the combination is excellent.
Using the XLR connections the RP-7 has 20db of gain vs. the JC2 14db.
The sound is smooth and highly dynamic and you have the capability to have fun swapping different 12AU7 tubes to tailor the sound to your preference. I would not have an all solid state system just for that reason alone but the RP-7 also gives you that large 3D tube soundstage that I have never heard in an all solid state system.
I have hear the Parasound system and it leaves me a little cold.
