Origin Live Silver Mk4 tonearm install issues

I bought a Dr. Feikert Volare with a Origin Live Silver Mk4 tonearm.  The OL manual is for an older model of the Silver (which has differnt parts).  I am having a really hard time getting the arm installed and not getting much help.  The lack of documentaion, or how to videos, is frustrating.   Does anyone have this arm and can I ask you some questons?  TY!

I have that arm but it was preinstalled on my table.  What is the issue?    The Origin is a direct fit for a rega mount.   Is the Feikert drilled to accept a Rega style arm?

Please share the issue.   I have owned many OL arms and they all mount in similar ways so I would be happy to help with your setup.

Can you post a picture of the arm board or plinth hole and the base of the tonearm?   If drilled for Rega the bottom threaded nut comes off, drop through hole and thread nut from underside of table.  The top threaded nut and lower lock nut adjust the tonearm height

I have an older model Origin Silver too. It was installed on my Sota table by Sota but I do find it a bit finicky. The arm swivels often even though it’s hand tightened (and tightening is very difficult as it’s hard to reach beneath the table to tighten). So that potentially an issue. I just keep checking and retightening. I also have issues with the ball-and-string anti-skate because there’s no numerical reference numbers and must be adjusted on feel and sound.

I have an Illustrious MK3 on my SOTA and didn't have any problems. It's just 1 nut to tighten up.
What are you having trouble with?

I have an origin Live Silver, and an Encounter MK3C. They should drop in easily, but I suspect the nut on the base is too loose on yours. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten it.

I have mine on a SOTA also. All I do it unscrew the 3 screws that hold the armboard and lift it all out together, Very easy to adjust the mounting nut then.
You can snug it up lightly with a wrench, but not too tight otherwise it does affect the sound.

Also, is everyone using just the cork washer and nut? When I was able to contact OL, they said the older methods using the metal lock washer is no longer current.

Speaking of contacting OL.
I was in touch with them regularly about a month or two ago. I've  emailed them recently 3 times with a question and no one has responded.
Anyone know what's up?

That's odd. When I emailed them last year, they responded within 3 days. Maybe someone got sick, but it's unusual for them to be so lax about responding. I've had their products for 20 years and have had questions, which they answered.

They got back with me yesterday. Said they've been extremely busy and apologies for the delay.

I’m glad they did, so you can get everything sorted out. Did they offer any explanation about the tonearm movement?

The bases for the OL Silver haven’t changed in the past 20 years. I had a Mk 1 Silver, sold it and got a Mk II. And I still have a Rega turntable, which the Silver remains mounted on. I have the Encounter on another table, but both the posts for either of the two OL arms dropped into the turntable easily.
