If money is an issue, you can also consider a Raspberry Pi computer and dedicate it as a player. It can output analog, or digital to a DAC, or a decent DAC add-on board can be added to the Pi. I use the LMS (Squeezebox server) software and it can be used solely as a streaming player. You don't need to have your own, local music collection, though you can if you wish. I have the latter setup and Qobuz plays fine through it. I use a Kindle Fire as a controller and can even build playlists that mix my material with songs from Qobuz.
Need help with Qobuz please...
... I just signed up last night and set it up on my old iPhone 7+ and hooked it up to my main two channel system. I don't have a DAC just yet so I am running the 7+ thru a tube pre into my McIntosh pre....
Here is what I need help with... I can't for the life of me figure out how to control the 7+ with my iPod from my chair.....
When I try it disconnects my 7+ and plays thru the iPod. Sorry if this is simple but my simple butt can't figure it out and you folks are very helpful...
Thanks Mitch
btw... Spotify works like that with ease....

Might take a look at this unit if your just going to do Qobuz. They are pricey new but you can pick them up for 5 to 8 hundred bucks here and USAudiomart. https://beta.bryston.com/digital-audio/bdppi/ Here is a review of the BDP-1. There is one on here for for about same price as Denon.https://www.stereophile.com/content/bryston-bdp-1-digital-audio-player |
https://www.audioadvice.com/denon-dnp-800ne-network-audio-player.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3tPBjtfy5gIV... I’m looking at this as my streamer.... I can get a DAC from a friend BUT I would still be using my 7+ as the computer.... |
I may be wrong, but I think you are going to need a streamer of some sort going into a DAC to make Quobuz work. This can be a computer set up or dedicated streamer. Right now you are using the DAC inside the iphone. When you remove the hard wired connection of phone to preamp, you no longer have an interface for Quobuz to stream to. Others will certainly chime in with thoughts, but that's mine. Oz |
