Naim Core music library backup. Help!!!!!!!!!! Not a techno guy, not an idiot.

My old library was transferred successfully by a shop from my old Naim UnitiServe to my present Naim Core, so we know it's in FLAC.  I've added substantially to the Naim Core and wish to backup the files and eventually transfer my library to a new Naim Core plus have it all backed up.

I'm using a Seagate 2 TB USB 3.2 Gen 1 SSD.  Because everything is in FLAC, usage is around 600GB in the current library, so more than enough room (2775 CDs).

I've formatted the Seagate to Apple as I use an iPAD.  That's my reasoning.  It formats and off we go.  It shows backup in progress for 41,525 files.  5.5 hours later we are 50% complete.  It finishes, shows success and on the readout shows files to process 0, and files backed up 0.

I've repeated this now 3 times with same result.  All seems well until the end.  What am I missing?  Thank you, thank you, thank you for any insight.

I sense a common theme.  Thanks everyone for responses.  It's the horse I'm on, so be it.  It does sound great, just the backup thing is driving me a bit nuts.  I feel as if used simply loaded and for listening, it is great.  Otherwise, challenging. Thank you.

Love the preamp (282) and amp (250DR) and streamer (ND5 XS2) but not a fan of the core or the customer support.  I’ve had numerous failures to back up the Core. Waiting on the third week now for response from naim. I had to remove the SSD from the core and put it in a slot in my home computer and transfer the files to a backup portable HD. Only then was I able to identify which files were causing the “error” when the backup with the Core was failing. The core won’t identify the file (2054 of 24061). What good does that do. With windows I was able to identify the corrupt file with a title that I could remove. Don’t understand why the Core would allow a file that will cause a failed backup to be installed in the library if it will cause a failed backup.  Crickets from Naim.  My dealer where I bought it new from just emailed Naim with the problem. They had no idea either.
Thinking maybe Roon and Aurender are a better solution. Really don’t want the headaches of a self made NAS. Anyone want to buy a Unity Core.

425 miles from the dealer.  I hear you.  British companies seem oft detached from American market reality.  I've Sugden pieces, customer service non-existent.  Rega works.  Thanks for insight.

Welcome to NAIM… and yes, I own two Unitiserve and a couple of failed backup , partial backups, etc… my advice which I have trouble executing is find a NAIM dealer who you can pay to setup and here is the kicker ENSURE results and or have Canadian importer/support remotely get into your network…. I have done both…

I am somewhat familiar w the new core ( my brother has one after his Unitiserve SSD died and Canada said not economic to repair made him a “ deal “ to replace w CORE. W CORE he was unable to get it to recognize his NAS.

wishing you luck and all the best.

NAIM won’t be on my list going forward without a seachange in attitude and responsive support

After a fourth try, and having done nothing differently, the Samsung SSD backup now says that 41,575 files have transferred.  We'll see.  Still would appreciate any input.  Thanks

I can try the non Apple format.  Naim support online is kind of brief and not helpful to me.  Thanks for response.

Just for the heck of it, did you try formatting to non Apple?  Maybe it’s an Apple-Seagate thing.  Also, have tried support for Naim, Seagate, and Apple?
