Use your preferred connection, at short distances you don't need XLR.

Yes, use the maximum volume on the NAD or the "fixed" setting. Eliminate multiple volume controls. :)

I am using Kubala Fascination xlr and Audioquest Black Mumba for rca

odd thing When in bypass mode the NAD controls volume and it sounds great Xlr when bypass off and Preamp controls volume xlr sounds muffled for voices instruments still sound good

very disappointed in Parasound I contacted them and the response was Have you contacted your Dealer I already had and thought I would contact the manufacture I sent second email to Parasound 6-7 days ago no response
